  • A: Do not use anything that contains alcohol. They will damage the coating on your glasses. Alcohol will damage also by drying out the plastic made glasses of today. I’ve worked in a major manufacturing facility that makes lenses and have seen the damage cleaning wipes cause.

  • A: Actually that's probably what their for. Zeiss makes their lens wipes for camera lenses and such but also markets them as for glasses, and these are EXACTLY like the Zeiss lens wipes.

Eczema trigger

Eczema trigger. These wipes had trigger my hand eczema multiple times. The first time I wasn’t sure if it’s the wipes or something else even though I’ve had hand eczema for years and I’m very careful and pretty aware what triggers them and what not. Months later I bought those wipes again and as soon as I used them several times to clean my glasses, the eczema got triggered really really bad. It took me over a month to restore my skin. At that point, I was 100% sure that it’s something in the wipes because I was monitoring very closely how my skin was getting affected, also everything that I use in my house from dishwashing soaps to laundry detergent to cleaning supply is entirely and only plant base and eczema protected. I have no doubt that the trigger was the wipes. I would not recommend to anybody with hand eczema issues unless you’re using gloves.

Unfortunately, the recent packaging and formula changes seem to have made the product less effective. The new formula leaves water droplets on the lens and no longer cleans as well as it did before. I never had this issue with the previous version, so this has been a disappointing change.

Worst Lens Cleaning Wipes

These used to be the best lens cleaning wipes (when they were in the white package). But since they changed to the purple packaging, the wipes are the worst. First, the packaging is flat out ugly (looks like a condom package now). Second, they made the wipe itself smaller. Third, they leave a WET residue on your lenses. That is not how a lens cleaning wipe should work.
