Q: Can u turn the alarm off by pressing the button on the top?

If you ever want to use the alarm feature again, just flip the alarm switch to the "ON" position. The top button on this Alarm Clock activates both the Snooze function. I hope this information helps. Q: Does this clock make an audible tick with the seconds?
A: No - there is a very quiet mechanical type sound that is only audible when you hold it directly up to your ear. I am very sensitive to sound and ticking clocks drive me nuts, so this one is great!

Q: I'm trying to figure out if this clock is Electric (with a battery, in case of power failure), or if it is completely Battery? Appreciate a reply. Thank you.
A: It looks like the clock runs entirely on battery, as the specifications say that an AA battery is required. Viewing the clock in 3D on the listing page shows only a chamber for a battery.
