Directions

Use up to 21 days unless directed by your doctor. Not for strains, sprains, bruises, or sports injuries. This product has not been shown to work for these types of injuries. Daily: For Your Arthritis Pain: Use 4 times per day every day. Do not use on more than 2 body areas at the same time. Per Dose: Use Enclosed Dosing Card to Measure a Dose: For each upper body area (hand, wrist, or elbow) - Squeeze out 2.25 inches (2 grams). For each lower body area (foot, ankle or knee) - Squeeze out 4.5 inches (4 grams). Read the Enclosed User Guide for Complete Instructions: Use only as directed. Do not use more than directed or for longer than directed. Apply only to clean, dry skin that does not have any cuts, open wounds, infections or rashes. Do not apply in same area as any other product. Do not apply with external heat such as heating pad. Do not apply a bandage over the treated area. Store enclosed dosing card with your Voltaren Arthritis Pain. The dosing card is re-usable.

Q: i'm curious why this can't be used on neck, shoulders, back or hips for pain. i bought it for that, but it says on the box that it can't be used on these areas. i'll have to return it.

  • A: Voltaren emugel is sold in the UK specifically for muscle pain. Same ingredients as Voltaren for joint pain sold here in the US. Looks like it’s marketed differently in each country. I use it on my back — works really well.

  • A: I am not a doctor, but am in the same boat as you. For me, the issue is NSAIDs can cause stomach bleeding, and I have colitis which when flaring can cause bleeding in the digestive tract. So to not risk setting anything off down there, my doctors have told me for years to avoid oral NSAIDs, but topical are ok. So the entire reason I use products like this is to avoid the oral version.

    Limited use for me

    I bought this specifically for hip pain and some upper body pain then read it cannot be used on back, shoulder or hip! So much for that. I also thought it could replace my oral ibuprofen and be better for my stomach but it apparently can also cause issues. Obviously not the right product for me. I'll stay with I ordinary arthritis cream and ibuprofen.

    Easy, Convenient Joint Pain Relief

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My mother has been using Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel whenever she suffers from stiffness in her joints, and she wants to inform everyone how easy it is to use. The accompanied dosing card makes measuring the right amount easy; all you have to do is squeeze the tube to get a decent amount, and the gel goes on really easily regardless of how greasy or sticky is has been. The gel also absorbs quickly and does not make using it during the day an inconvenience at all. As far as my mother is concerned, she believes it works really well for pain and stiffness reliefs, therefore it has been quite effortless for her to incorporate into her routine. Highly recommend!

This cream is just for arthritis pain and has limited areas where it can be used: hand, wrist and elbow ( upper body) & knee and ankle (lower body). Also, it can only be used up to two areas. The main ingredient is diclofenac sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug. The guide is important. Weighing the effectiveness and the huge lists of do’s and don’t’s, the user has to make the ultimate decision. Pro: No smell and user-friendly safety seal; some relief; only 6% of the NSAID is absorbed in the bloodstream. Con: Intended for only 21 days’ use; 4 times per day for effectiveness; 2.25 inches per part for upper body; 4.5 inches per part for lower body; limited effectiveness on body parts; and can’t use it beyond 2 areas; 10-minute wait before covering. I wasn’t good at measuring out the dosage using the dosing card. There was some relief on my knees, but then it can’t be used elsewhere. I would have to reapply 4 times per day. My life is much more active for this routine. Like a prescription, there is only a 21-day use.

Rub it in until fully absorbed for best results. It does have a strong smell but goes away after absorption. Constancy is key here for the best results. It won’t completely numb the pain obviously but it can often times take away the edge, or even a bit more. Everyone is a bit different, so of course it will work a little different for everyone! The main ingredient in this product is, Diclofenac and Advil, so you definitely want to be careful to not use too much at once. & definitely be sure it’s safe for you before using. A great product!

    So the gel comes with a card for you to measure your dose depending on the area you are placing the gel on. You cant place it on more than 2 areas at a time.The gel is really smooth and isnt oily or greasy at all. It takes a little while for it to help with pain from your arthritis but it does work.i have arthritis in my hands from my line of work and omg this is a must have for me now. It works so well and take the pain away. I feel like I have a whole new set of hands.

    Absolutely works!

    This absolutely works. Read instructions for caution. My Orthopedic surgeon prescribed this yrs ago and after insurance it was $75 a tube! I was thrilled when it became OTC! While expensive - OTC cost has saved me money.
