I ignored the negative reviews, as I did not want to buy a britta. This leaks EVERYWHERE. Ruined the food in our fridge and after a couple weeks it developed a “fishy” smell. So gross. Will be returning.

In theory, this item is great. Unfortunately, the production of it is lacking. It constantly leaks, flooding the top shelf of our fridge and destroying any paper carton in its path. The filter time is very slow, but the water tastes great. I have reached out to the company before I toss it in the trash and am waiting to hear back.

I could definitely tell a difference in taste of water, so it does filter well. However, I noticed very quickly (like maybe 2 weeks?) that it was no longer reading zero. For the price of the system, it’s not worth the short filter life!! (It’s $17 for a replacement filter through Target)

Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. We empathize with your situation and we have spoken with many customers with this issue. Some of our customers have used other, traditional filtration systems, such as a Culligan Whole House Filter to treat the water prior to filtering through a Zero Water filter. In many cases that will cut the TDS level down enough to make the use of ZeroWater more economical. There is very little we can do to extend the life of our filters when the water supply is so high in TDS. Our filters are designed to remove over 99% of dissolved solids; in areas with high TDS readings filter life will be short.

If you live in Long Beach you will need to buy a filter every two weeks. I had one for myself and my dog & it did not last. Water tastes great but it also doesn’t filter out certain things.

I loved this for the first two weeks…after that, despite the TDS meter reading 0, my water tasted metallic and fishy. As a note- my tap water does not taste like this, so the filter is certainly adding this taste to the water. I had 2 extra filters that did the same thing. I have never had this issue with other water filtration devices and have switched back to Brita. Unless you can afford constantly replacing the filters or do not care what your water tastes like, I do NOT recommend this brand. 0 TDS is not worth the hassle and costs.

We bough this about 2 months ago. It’s been leaking since the first time we filled it. I love the water, the filter works great. It just doesn’t matter what we do, we can’t get it to stop leaking. We can’t find any visible holes or cracks, it literally seems to be leaking at the seams. I would absolutely love it if there were no leaks.

Bought item to have safer drinking water but product doesn’t work. It begins by saying you have to filter like 2 gallons though before use. However it took 2 days for it to filter like 3 liters and the resivior was still full. Had to return.

I think someone thought, how can I make the most irritating water filter system and created this. It takes forever to fill up - if it even does. Sometime it sits there, I’ve tried a needle I lift up, it’s just the worst. I really wish I would’ve stuck with my guy on the first review I read. Such a waste of money, I typically get water right out of my sink bc this thing rarely fills up fully and if it does it takes hours…I’m not kidding.
1 reply from ZeroWater Team team - 5 months ago
Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. From time to time the filter can develop an air lock, some little air pockets or air bubbles that get trapped down inside the filter. Typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock.
A must!

The water at my new place was really not great, and even affected the flavor of my coffee. Now that I bought this, I actually drink water when I'm at home. Those filters are expensive though, and the quality meter operation is not very intuitive.

I love the zero water brand filtration system. Great tasting water and great filtration. I even took a sample to the lab to confirm the quality! I saw a lot of negative comments about the filter - filtering slowly or not much water. They have an air bubble in the filter which is why the activated carbon in the filter is going bad quickly too. A few different ways to get the air bubbles out but to start slowly add water until the filter is full. Pour directly in center of filter to flush out any air pockets. Give the pitcher a shake to work out bubbles. Try to keep it filled up after dispensing to avoid this issue.

Not great for my area. Filters don’t last very long, and had to replace filters every 3 weeks. The water tasted fine until week 3 then got a terrible sour taste. It got too pricey to keep up with. Ended up purchasing a countertop RO machine in the end.

I purchased the 32 cup ZeroWater, and wish I knew about it long before. Between 2020 and end of 2023, I went through 4 water distillers, due to at beginning of Covid distilled water was scarce. After much frustration with the quality of distillers, I switched to a counter top reverse water osmosis system. I liked the fact that it was quiet and did not steam up my home, but I needed to remove the water tank every time to refill, and only two-thirds of the water was good for drinking/cooking. The carafe held just 40 ounces which did not supply enough for my needs without constantly having to remove the tank. I decided to search for something to supplement and came across this system. What a life changer, it supplies enough water and is easy to refill, the water is crystal clear like water from a spring and taste great. I am consuming more water during the day, I no longer drink water at the gym after testing the water quality, and best of all the quality is the same as the water from my reverse osmosis system. I have been using this system only. I did experience an issue with leakage from the spout and called to get a new spout, but the company went beyond my expectation. I am forever grateful and intend on being a life long customer.
