Major letdown

Brand new filter installed and after 1 fill up through the filter it stopped working. Now the water just sits in the upper tank and doesn't filter through. If it would work constantly I'd like it. I even tried swapping out a new filter and the same thing happens. Wasted my money and now I still have to buy bottled water. Major letdown
1 reply from ZeroWater Team team - 16 days ago
Thank you for contacting ZeroWater. From time to time the filter can develop an air lock, some little air pockets or air bubbles that get trapped down inside the filter. Typically this is an easy and quick fix, simply remove the filter from the container and unscrew it from the tray. Then hold the filter sideways/horizontal and grip the filter very tightly and shake the filter with some good force side to side and back and forth 8 to 10 times. This will loosen the filter media and break the air lock.

I’ve been using this for years!

I’ve been using zero water for 2 years minimum, and recently moved. My belongings haven’t arrived yet and yesterday I drank unfiltered water for the first time since I got my first pitcher. It’s insane the difference these filters make! I actually spit the water out. I read some of these one star comments and most of them are the people’s faults for not changing the filter as soon as it read .06. If you use it as instructed you will have the best tasting water of your life.

After moving and no longer having an under sink RO unit, I was looking for something that wasn’t the typical brand. I found Zero Water on accident but boy am I glad! It lives up to its promises and more. I am a super picky water drinker and usually add something to mask the taste. Zero Water filters it all out. You won’t need to add lemon or anything else. I am so happy I found this water filter and plan to tell everyone I know about it!

There is something so wrong with this filter. We have cleaned it out manyyyy times and follow the instructions. We’ve had it a little over a month and have used 3 filters because the water will randomly taste HORRIBLE. I’m starting to think it’s the plastic container because when I put water on the filter for the water to go into the bowl that’s fine. But don’t waste your time on the hassle.
1 reply from ZeroWater Team team - 1 month ago
When using the ZeroWater it is extremely important to test the filtered water regularly and change the filter once the reading gets to 006ppm, this will help you avoid any change in the taste of the water. We realize you are going through filters very rapidly and the most common reason for this would be the quality of your unfiltered tap water. If your tap water reads over 400ppm this will cause the filter to work quite hard to get the reading down to 000ppm and the life of the filter will be shorter than normal. If your tap water is in the average range, 200ppm or lower then there may be other factors at play and we would certainly be happy to speak with you to get more details. 1-800-503-2939

The pitcher is horrible. No matter what I do, unless I hold the lid on, the lid pops off when pouring and water goes all over the place. I’m going back to the pitcher I’ve been using for years. Ugh.

I loved it

I had the big 30 cup Zero Water Filter Ready Pour Dispenser. I absolutely loved it. My tap water runs in the low 300 range and tastes awful. The Zero Water filter allowed me to drink as much fresh tasting water as I wanted. I wish the filters were either a bit less expensive or lasted longer(I understand why they don't with my TDS being higher than average), but otherwise, it fantastic. I tried putting a PUR filter on my tap to try and help my Zero Water filters last longer, but it didn't change the TDS by a single number. I was extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, I got COVID. I was in my kitchen, passed out, knocked my dispenser, which was full of water, to the floor, and destroyed it. Luckily, I had the medium sized Zero Water pitcher in reserve. I can't afford a new 30 cup dispenser, but I'd recommend one to anyone who can!

Bought the 30 cup container water taste so much better but the spigot is horrible. Hole is too close to base and the spigot drips water in the fridge. I see alot of complaints about this problem. What can we do about this situation that leaks the water. Would not recommend with leaking spigot.

I gave it a try for a couple of weeks, but after maybe about 20 fill ups (so about 140 cups), it started to have a metallic taste. If you remember the old ionic breeze machines where they add "ozone" to your air which had a metallic smell, this is what it tastes like. I did contact customer service and they sent me a new filter replacement (great customer service!), but again, after 20 fill ups, the metallic taste came back. I don't think the metallic taste itself prevents me from drinking, but my brain is asking the question "is this really good for my body vs just straight tap water?". Psychologically, I cannot continue drinking this water unless someone does some study showing this is still better for my body than tap.

ZeroWater's Ion-exchange resin filters are a reliable and efficient way to get delicious, filtered water. They work by exchanging ions in the water with regenerated ions from the resin beds, which can remove a variety of contaminants from water, including lead, nitrates, sulfates, calcium, magnesium, and other heavy metals. The exchanged ions bind with the contaminants, making them much easier to filter out. Our combination of cation and anion exchange resins can reduce 99.6% of dissolved contaminants in your water. However, when the filter is exhausted no more contaminants can be filtered out and an unpleasant smell and taste may be present. This is a common cause of overuse and can also occur by pouring hot water into the filter or freezing it. Be aware, though, that while the smell is unpleasant, it does not indicate any harm or danger. It is only time to replace your filter. Change your filter once the TDS meter reads 006.

Dont Buy Zerowater - 2 months ago

After countless debates and playing Sherlock Holmes with water filters, we finally caved in and bought this fancy contraption. At first, the water tasted like heaven, but as soon as day 15 rolled around, the filter decided to go on strike! It must've taken a course in slacking off. Now, we're stuck rinsing and tapping it like we're trying to summon a genie from a magic lamp. And guess what? The filter's lifespan is shorter than a soap bubble's existence - only 10-15 days! I feel like I'm in a never-ending filter-changing marathon. And to add insult to injury, these filter replacements cost more than a rare diamond. I'm seriously considering starting a water filter black market to fund this madness. It's become the epitome of frustration, wasting time, money, and every ounce of sanity I had left. Cheers to filtered chaos!

The filters go sour after 2 weeks. I bought this pitcher to refill my pets water bowl and luckily I read the MANY reviews after complaining about the sour taste. I taste tested it and it tastes acidic almost like lemon water. I’m so mad my pets were having to drink that for who knows how long. Iv never experienced souring with any other pitchers and to me that doesn’t even sound safe.

I bought my first Zero Water pitcher 2 years ago and I use it very heavily. I drink 1-1.5 gallons of water a day and it is perfect for me. I recently moved and the refrigerator I put it in was too cold, which ended up cracking my dispenser. I contacted the company a few days before I went on a camping trip asking if they were able to replace it or if I should just buy a new one, and when I got home from my trip, a new dispenser was waiting for me. I am so pleased with this experience! I am a dedicated customer and will continue using these products. I highly recommend you try out Zero Water if you haven’t yet, all of my friends who’ve tried it say it tastes amazing!

The Zero water system worked well when I first got it, but when I had to replace the filter, I found it virtually impossible to screw in the new filter. I’m on my second replacement filter, and having the same problem, so the unfiltered water is leaking into the pitcher. I cannot tell you how many times I have worked at attaching the filter. The system fails on a poorly engineered plastic screw attachment. So much for zero solids.

Initial response was very good. Tap water went from higher 300's range to 00. After one week of two people drinking from it the mild chemical taste became more noticeable. At 10 days the water is almost undrinkable with a chemical taste that is not lemony or fishy as troubleshooting claims. Despite this their meter still reads 003 and am supposed to change at 006. Not going to get that far. At this point the regular city tap water tastes like heaven compared to what is in the pitcher. Can't afford a new filter every week.
1 reply from ZeroWater Team team - 2 months ago
We apologize for the issue with this filter, there is obviously a defect with this filter as it should never have any type of taste before it reaches the 006ppm mark. This is not the norm for our product and we will most certainly send you a replacement filter right away. Please contact us us at either 1-800-503-2939 or customerservice@zerowater.com

The pitcher works great. I was surprised how quickly water filtered through compared to the older filter pitcher. There was a minor issue with the first pitcher but their customer service went above and beyond to make sure I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. Really nice to work with customer service that is here in the USA and understands what customer service is all about. If I needed another pitcher, I would not hesitate to order from them.
