submitted bythenaturalnymph - 6 years agoA: I called the Ziploc company (SC Johnson) and they informed me that they are indeed BPA Free. They said ALL of their slider bags do not contain BPA. I use these bags, as well as their freezer quart size bags. It's good to know, when storing fruit & veggies, that they are BPA chemical free.

The new "stand up, fill" bags are a 100% fail! The top portion of the bag rips off so easily it renders them useless! Have used Ziploc forever but they are now trash.

These bags are one-time use at best. The zipper lines separated from the bag itself on several and the bag split at the new fold line on a few.

Doesn't Stay Open on it's own

The bottom of the bag will flatten out, but the mouth doesn't necessarily stay open. The picture on the bag is very misleading of the stay open design. Acts more like a typical ziploc bag than anything with a unique feature.

I recently bought there for freezing some of my harvest from the garden and the majority of the bags have ripped open causing messes on the counter tops and my freezer, the new design of these bags ( new stay open design )are horrible and not durable. I typically always use ziplock and will never use this kind again.

Use these products all the time, perfectly good for storage. Saw the "stay open" gimmick on the latest box I purchased. Laughed at it. And then fell for it. Homemade chicken soup all over the counter, down the side, and on the floor. Lose the gimmicks and stop trying to reinvent the product.

I have been using these bags for decades without major problems, but the last several boxes have left me very frustrated and disappointed! Bags are failing and ripping about 1 inch below the zipper (see picture). I have lost the contents of the bag several times all over the floor.

Just bought ziplock quart freezer bags with "Fold and Fill" technology. Please listen as we just want strong freezer bags not these gimmicky strength compromised try and make your life easier bags. Filling a freezer bag is not rocket science. These used to be a good product. Returning them and won't shop Ziplock in the future.

I have always trusted and loved Ziploc bags. But this type of bags are totally disgusting! The first bag I unzipped tore across the top. The second one would not zip either direction-- always open. After showing my husband, I decided to try one more bag. This one did the same thing!!!! I am out over $7.00.

I used these to marinate some chicken. It took me 2 or 3 times to get it to stand up. You have to position the bag the right way. They are neat and help.

I have two kids under 5 and try to make all our meals. To make life easier, I often make double batches of things that can be frozen and reheated later. I have struggled for years to load up freezer bags without spilling the contents. This makes a HUGE difference! I will definitely continue buying this.

These ziplock bags are very cool how they can stand without holding them, even if they have liquid in them. These would be awesome for meal prepping or freezing leftover soups or stews. I still felt more secure, holding the bag with one hand and pouring the liquid with the other hand. This is way better than it used to be with having to use two people, one to keep the bag open and the other person pouring it. If you need to get more liquid in the bag, but you need to step away, you can leave the bag there standing and get more. I will continue to use these bags.

Easy to use, I do not have to worry if the bag is close correctly or not (I have had bad spills in the fridge with other brands...). Love the stay open fonction, especially when you have to transfer liquid food! I use these bags for freezing, storing, snacks, makeup, even for clothes! The whole family loves Ziploc.

These bags are great! You can open them up and just roll the top and they will stay wide open making marinating meats, and such for dinner is so much easier because you have both hands free

We used the gallon freezer bags for freezing chili! It was great that I could actually do this on my own. Usually I have to ask my husband or 6 year old daughter to hold the bag for me. I did fold down the top 2 times to help stabilize it. I love the Ziplock brand because they are durable and I know nothing will get freezer burn.

First off I received this as a free product from buzz agent to test and give my honest opinion so here goes! I absolutely love the zip lock brand and I'm always using the gallon bags for something or another. In the past I have tried off brands but it just didn't stand up to ziploc. The fact that they have finally came out with a version that stands up is icing on the cake! Now I don't need an extra set of hands to held hold the bags when I'm doing food storage.

I use this product to freeze leftovers that I prep. It REALLY does stay open like it says! It's so easy to pour soups in to freeze. We LOVE this! Very sturdy and they don't fall or bend like other brands seem to do. This is my new go-to storage bag!

I received a free sample of this product in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to try these bags because pouring things into ziploc bags has long been an issue, and the prospect of "stay open" bags sounded promising. Unfortunately, the bags have not lived up to the hype. Don't get me wrong, they're still great for storing food, etc., do not leak liquids, and are altogether a good product, but they don't perform their advertised "stay open" function very well. More specifically, the bags have printed instructions for using the stay open function, but they are not very clear and do not seem to work well in any event. Additionally, the few times I was able to do so, the open the bag stayed open was only slightly better than regular ziploc, and certainly not as good as having someone hold it open (which would be ideal). As a result, while these are certainly good storage bags, I don't imagine that any extra cost associated for the stay open function would really be worth it.
