blue boom arm

Across the listings reviewed, boom arm load capacities range from about 2.2 pounds up to 4 pounds, covering most standard microphones used for streaming, podcasting, and recording.

Most boom arms offer clamp and grommet mounting so you can either clamp to the desk edge or install through a desk hole; some listings also include hardware for permanent attachment.

Many boom arms include 3/8" and 5/8" thread adapters to fit most shock mounts and microphones, and often come with the mounting hardware needed to clamp or permanently attach the arm to a desktop.

Listings commonly describe boom arms as made from durable, lightweight materials—several explicitly state 'durable and lightweight aluminum,' while others use terms like 'heavy-duty' or 'high-quality materials' to convey sturdiness.

Some boom arms include attached straps or clips to keep cables organized and tangle-free. Listings also note that included mounting hardware and versatile mount options can make routing and securing cables easier during setup.

Several listings explicitly note compatibility with Blue microphones and state that included adapters help the arm fit most shock mounts and microphones, indicating broad cross-brand compatibility.

Some arms include an anti-scratch clamp pad to protect the desktop and use a simple twist-to-secure clamp mechanism for stable mounting without damaging the surface.

Spring-based or suspension systems are described as adjustable to support heavier microphones and as providing advanced suspension to reduce shaking, sinking, dipping, or noise—improving stability when properly adjusted.
