Nite Ize Steelie Original Vent Mount - Additional Vent Mount for Steelie Magnetic Phone Mounting System

I purchased a vent mount kit (mount + magnet ring) in 2013 or so. It served me well until my device failed, so I purchased a new magnet ring for my new device, then discovered that there was no way to attach it to the device at or near the center. I attached it to the side, but the device rotated sideways. I thought to purchase a new mount, intending to attach it's ring to the other side of the device. I was unaware that this item did not include a magnet ring. The first magnet ring came off the device when I tried to remove it from the mount. By the time the new mount arrived, i was able to reattach it closer to the center of the device, which location was a smooth surface compared to the textured surface on the side. The new mount is now redundant. If the magnet ring comes off again will reattach it, using either a cyanoacrylate or epoxy adhesive. There is no place in my vehicle, other than the vent, that is both smooth and where the device does not obscure my vision, rendering a windshield or top of dashboard mounting unsuitable. Other than all that, which is not a fault of the magnet ring or vent mount, I am very pleased with my purchases.

The Steelie is a very stable and adjustableount, and it's really convenient to be able to take the ventount base with me when I travel and use a rental car.

Ingeniously designed, functional, solid materials. I am a repeat customer (steelie mobile mounts). As the phone sizes have increased, I've upgraded the size of the munts so they can handle the extra weight securely on my vent mount. BEST!

I got this for Christmas a while back as I was retiring my Garmin (now I use Waze and occasionally Google Maps) and I had no elegant way to mount my iPhone for navigation. I took a short while to decide where it should be mounted and away I went. Really nothing to criticize about this - I have used NiteIze products for years with similar success.

The only real complaint I have is about the windshield mount. The arm is way to short and it needs to extend for different vehicles. The current length is fine for a passenger car but it's was too short for a semi truck .

The Vent mount is really made well with a lever activated clamp. It's a quality piece and worth the $$$. It works great too. It's easy to move from vehicle to vehicle.

Keeps my iPhone secure on the original steelie balls in north my car and truck but allows me to detach it for wireless charging. Perfect.

I have the pedestal on my kitchen window still, works perfectly holding my iPhone. Use it every time. I’m sure I will find other users as well. I would buy again

The glue pads need to be replaced frequently in hotter weather or when using heat vents near the mount on the dash

I have used the steelie dash mount and think it is the best. Having extra device plates for when you change your phone is really helpful.
