A: The compartments are not removable from the board without breaking it. They are removable to the dog by sliding them into a new position in order to get the the food underneath. Please read my review. I see this more as a slowfeeder than a teat dispenser. Too easy for most dogs to earn a treat and too many compartments (that's too many treats), but as a way to feed them their food it is pretty darn good. You would have to clean each compartment with a rag by hand though.

A: Dear customer Thank you for your question. This toy has flip covers on the outside. The dogs can open or slide the compartments to retrieve the treats. In order to prevent the toy from being damaged when the dog scratches it, the entire toy is designed to be non-detachable.
