Description

The Agri-Fab De-Thatcher effectively loosens and lifts thatch for healthier lawn growth. The best time to de-thatch is in the fall, because it allows water and nutrients to reach the grass roots in preparation for the spring. Effectively uproots dead, matted grass swathes up to 40 In. length. 20 rust-proof and replaceable heat-treated tines for maximum performance and durability. Two 7 In. flat free wheels provide smooth transport. Simple-to-use cantilever transport handle for easy raising and lowering of the tines. The 40 weight tray holds up to 70 Lb. for improved thatch removal. A universal hitch attaches to any lawn tractor, regardless of brand.

    Great product at very good price.

    I bought this to dethatch our 1 acre yard. It has worked well and I did not need to add weight to it. It was easy to assemble, the instructions were good. All the parts were in the box plus a few extra bolts and nuts. The instructions were good on how to adjust it for my yard tractor.

    DEFECTIVE PART RENDERS JUST-BOUGHT PRODUCT USELESS

    It's Sunday so I can't call Cust. Svc. but after spending nearly 3 hours on careful assembly I discovered wheel bracket is defective (a wheel hole is in the wrong place - see photo), so I'm dead in the water... and angry. QA messed up, bigly, on this one. I'll consider upgrading this review... IF I get a replacement, PRONTO.

    Works well, assembly took longer was missing 4 of the 1 inch 5/16 bolts. Picked up missing items from hardware store and completed assembly. The tool works great and completed my spring tasks.

    Just purchased

    TOOK A WHILE TO ASSEMBLE BY MYSELF, RECOMMEND WATCHING THE VIDEO ON THEIR WEBSITE BEFORE ASSEMBLING. TRIED ON MY LAWN, WORKED GREAT. I WILL NEED TO PICKUP SOME HEAVIER CONCRETE BLOCKS THOUGH.

    Great value for the price

    I recently purchased this unit to de-thatch my half-acre yard. I have previously used a de-thatcher blade on my 22" Toro. This was better than nothing, but not much. Assembling the Agri-Fab unit was easy. Instructions were thorough. Attached behind my 42" Airens, performance was amazing. I'm 79 so appreciated the ease and performance.

    Works Great!

    Bought the 40" tine de-thatcher last month and used it for the first time. Have just under an acre of yard that has never had the thatch removed. It towed and worked as expected without any issues. No weight was required to keep it in the lawn and I'm very pleased with the results. Would definitely recommend it!

    Just what I needed!

    I needed a tow behind tine de-thatcher/ rake to prep my yard for fall over seeding. The 40" tine de-thatcher worked great. Assembly was reasonably easy. More weight worked really good on the larger bare spots. And less weight worked better on the thicker areas of lawn. I am glad that I decided to get it.

    works like a champ

    bought this with the sweeper and man this little thing just works. I added a couple cinder blocks and strapped them down and went to town. It went together very easy and my zero turn takes it from there. My first year trying out the de thatcher. Im ready to overhaul the lawn. Next is aeration. Things can only get better.

    Works great. Needs a better handle.

    Works really well. I am very impressed at how well, and how much thatch it removed. My only complaint would be the how the handle works to raise the tines when you want to move without them touching the ground. It needs to be stiffer. Maybe a pole type handle would be better that a thin strip of steel. Also, though I can pull the handle back a raise the times well off the ground, the handle falls back before resting against where it catches and this leaves the tines just barely above the ground. I’d feel more comfortable if I could get the handle to stay at the point where the tines are the highest point.

    Does what it's supposed to do.

    It works as expected. I'd like to see a different way to secure the blocks as the ratchet strap hooks I used got in the way and the blocks didn't sit flat. I wound up just going all the way around. I also put a thin piece of rubber under the blocks to keep the paint protected.

    Well worth the money!

    Performed exactly as expected, so no surprises. I had to get off occasionally to free the tines of thatch, as described by other reviewers. Well worth the money, considering how much it costs to rent one. Granted, it’s not a commercial unit, but it will pay for itself in a year or two.

    Not happy with the quality very cheap

    I just purchased a 40” tow behind de thatcher. For the money it very poor quality.
