This Dove serum really surprised me. It's easy and lightweight to apply, doesn't weigh hair down, and rinses out quickly. From the moment I dried my hair, I noticed it was softer, shinier, and less frizzy. It leaves my hair feeling repaired and cared for from the very first use.

While the 10 in 1 serum seems like it might be helpful, the strong scent makes it a non-starter for me.

I live in a humid environment and have curly/wavy hair that is not chemically treated, but always frizzy and full of split ends. I thought this might help with the damage and the frizz, but it didn't seem to improve either of those things for me. One of the times I used it, I had put a curl gel in my hair and the addition of the oil made my hair look stringy and gross. I will say, it has a pleasant fragrance and adds a lot of shine to my hair. The pump bottle is easy to use. I think this product is likely best used by itself.

It does a great job at taming frizz, especially when I use it on dry hair to maintain moisture throughout the day. I have dry, coarse, thick hair. A great affordable option for smoother, healthier-looking hair! The scent is ok, a little fruity / sweet but not over powering.

However, it makes little to no visible difference in my hair. I have two photos that look almost identical. One is before and one is after applying to dry hair. I literally can’t tell which one is which so that should tell you something. There is a photo labeled “Dove” and nothing. This is where I applied it to damp hair on only one side of my head and blow-dried. I think maybe the Dove side is a little shinier, but not much. It did literally nothing for my frizz. The texture is light and smells nice. I can apply a good two or three pumps and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. This product wasn’t a win for me.

I am finally beginning to see some progress in finally growing my hair out and having healthy hair. Between heat styling, coloring, and just general wear and tear, my hair was looking dry, brittle, and just plain sad. I’d seen the Dove Intensive Repair line advertised, and since I’ve had decent experiences with other Dove products, bought a few that were still in my closet waiting to try. I received this product complimentary from Dove and Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I decided to give the Amino Serum a try. Here's my honest take after using it for a few weeks. First off, the texture is great. It’s a lightweight serum, not oily or greasy at all. I was worried it would weigh my hair down, especially since I have relatively fine hair, but it doesn't. It absorbs really quickly, which is a big plus for me. I usually apply 2-3 pumps to damp hair after washing, focusing on the ends where I have the most damage. I do blow dry with a round bristle brush, which I almost think is where its needed. I don't feel it works as well without heat styling, which the product also contains heat protection. The scent is… well, it’s definitely there. It’s that classic Dove scent, which some people love and some don’t. Personally, I don’t mind it, but it is a bit strong at first. Thankfully, it fades after a while and doesn’t linger too intensely. The packaging is also visually attractive. Now, the important part: does it actually work? I’d say yes, with some caveats. I definitely noticed an improvement in shine after the first few uses. My hair looks healthier and less dull. It also feels smoother and softer to the touch. I’ve also noticed less breakage when I brush my hair, which is a huge win. My split ends are still there (let’s be real, only a trim can truly fix those), but they seem less frayed and noticeable. However, I wouldn't call this a miracle worker. I definitely have a favorite product that performs well. This is almost as good, and a very affordable option. If you have extremely damaged hair, like if it’s been chemically processed to oblivion, this serum alone probably won’t completely fix it. It's more of a maintenance and improvement product, in my opinion. It helps to smooth things out, add shine, and prevent further damage, but it’s not going to magically repair severely damaged hair overnight. The other products in the Dove bonding line are for that (They are a good affordable option too!). I like that its light and doesn't weigh my hair down. It also doesn't make me feel like my hair needs washed immediately after I use it. I think this product is a great option for protecting and preventing damage for all types of hair. As for repairing claims, I think it depends on your hair type and the extent of the damage. My hair is moderately damaged, and I saw noticeable improvements. If your hair is already in pretty good condition, you might not see as much of a change. I would seriously recommend this product as well as the whole product line if you need an affordable hair repair option. It is a good place to see if this type of product will work for you without breaking the bank.
