We named it Sleepytime, and it quickly became a favorite bedtime tea. Today, our calming Sleepytime blend of botanicals is available in herbal, decaf, green, and wellness teas, so you can always find a perfect cup for your bedtime routine.

Brew the perfect cup. Boil: Bring fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil. Steep: Pour 1 cup water over a tea bag in a cup. Steep 4 minutes, squeeze and remove bag.   • A: Hi. Our Sleepytime Extra is caffeine free. Herbal teas contain no Camellia sinensis leaves at all. Their flavor comes from a combination of herbs, spices, botanicals and natural flavors. Since they contain no tea leaves, herbal teas are naturally caffeine free.

Celestial Seasonings pillow-style teabags are made with a blend of abaca (a plant-based fiber) and wood cellulose, and they are heat sealed for quality with food-grade fibers made of polypropylene and low-density polyethylene. Polypropylene and polyethylene are thermoplastic polymers which are used for tea bags industry wide that are approved as safe for food contact and align to federal standards. Celestial Seasonings is committed to transparency in its manufacturing processes and to addressing consumer concerns about microplastics. Our tea packaging is safe. That said, we are working closely with our supplier partners to transition away from thermoplastic polymers to plant-derived materials.

Q: As someone else commented, valerian root is not listed as an ingredient, yet reviewers talk about the valerian it contains... Is the ingredients list truly complete?

It is listed under the Supplement Facts. The Supplement Facts also lists Chamomile and Tilia Estrella. Hope this helps!

Q: No where does it mention valerian root in the ingredients but the box info. claims to contain valerian. Not happy about it being excluded form the ingredients. Would not buy something when the description is vague.

It has really helped me relax and fall asleep.

Best nighttime tea

I love this tea. When I’m having a rough time with sleep, I gravitate towards the Sleepytime Extra. We keep it in our pantry at all times - it has that extra “something” to take the edge off of the day and allow you to drift away. As long as you follow the steeping instructions, it will have the correct potency.

Pleasant bedtime tea, but the sleep benefits were not very noticeable.

I had mixed feelings about this tea. The preparation is simple, and the tea bags steep well without falling apart. The aroma is pleasant and calming, making it a nice part of a bedtime routine. However, I didn't notice a significant difference in how quickly I fell asleep or in the overall quality of my sleep. The flavor is mild and herbal, but it may not appeal to everyone. While it's relaxing to drink in the evening, I was expecting stronger results based on the product claims. It's a decent tea, but not something I would rely on for sleep support.

Excellent tea to relieve stress and sleep better, the best thing is that it does not contain caffeine and tastes delicious, it is very easy to prepare and has a long duration of relaxation, I recommend them if you have problems falling asleep.

Wonderful tea 🍵

Great taste. Calming, helps me sleep. The only thing is the inside of the box is sticky & the tea bags aren't individually wrapped (to save paper waste) I wish there were more tea bags in the box, but other than that this tea is wonderful. I've used it for years to help me relax & sleep. 😴

Favorite of the sleepy teas!

The best tea to help relax and get ready for bed. I always have on hand during the cold months. The flavor is a mild herbal and sort of creamy or vanilla taste, perfect with a splash of milk. Makes me very calm and relaxed.

Tastes refreshing yet relaxing for a nightime beverage. Great chilled as well if you prefer. I slept well, but could be from relaxing with a cup of tea. I drank it mid-day iced as well and did not get sleepy, but felt relaxed. I think the spearamint smell kind of clears your mind

Love the smell and adding it as part of my nighttime routine. Was such a yummy and light tea that helped relax me for sleep. Overall I think it’s easy to make and the ingredients make sense to enrich your routine.

Sleepy boost tea

It’s smells very florally. The herbs are finely chopped in a bag with no strong. I like to use two bags for my tea at night. Has a elight after taste but I add honey and little oat milk and I don’t notice it

Delicious and helpful

I have been drinking this tea ever since I was a kid. My mom always made some for me and as i got older it became one of my comfort things for when im failing to fall asleep. Packaged wellz tastes great, ton of tea for only a few bucks. And works super well

Solid calming effect

This tea is really calming and helps me settle down before bed. The flavor is nice and herbal, and the valerian root definitely adds an extra relaxation boost. didn't fall asleep instantly, but it did help me feel more mellow and ready for rest. Overall a solid bedtime tea!

Sleepy

I was having a hard time going to sleep at night so decided to try this tea. This works quick. Less than 30 minutes after drinking and my eyes are closing. The flavor is great but I add a tad bit of honey for a little more sweetness. It is super easy to make and steep. I do wish it had the strings for the teabags but it doesn't stop anything.
