Miracle-Gro Shake 'n Feed All Purpose Plant Food is specially formulated to help grow stronger, vibrant and more productive plants (versus unfed plants). Formulated with kelp, earthworm castings, feather meal and bone meal in an all-in-one particle to feed microbes in the soil. Q: Will this work well on an indoor potted Fiddle Leaf Fig? Or should I use something else? If it will work how do I use it in the pot?

  • A: The usage instruction is in the back of the container. I just sprinkle them on the top of the soil and there is no need to dig the soil to bury the fertilizer granules. I water once every 2 weeks, that washes away the granules gradually into the soil.

  • A: For indoor potted Fiddle Leaf Fig (FLF) plants, the most recommended fertilizer NPK ratio is 3-1-2. This Miracle-Gro Shake 'N Feed has NPK % of 12-4-8, which is same as 3-1-2 ratio. I have been using this product on FLF for last 9 months and it works great. This being a slow release fertilizer, apply once in 2 months.

  • A: Hi Mila! Thanks for your question. Miracle-Gro Shake 'N Feed All Purpose Plant Food should be worked into to top 1-3 inches of soil. When using in mulched areas, we recommend raking back the mulch and apply directly to soil; however, it can be applied to the mulch and worked into the mulch layer.

Horrible product!

I bought this for the first time, spread it on almost half my garden and every plant has either died or is headed to the grave. (About 100 tomatoe plant, 20-30 pepper plants, 10-20 Brussel sprouts etc. Will never purchase agai, truly heart breaking to think I was helping the plants out but in reality killed them.

Wish it came in 40 lbs sacks for savings

Shake n Feed is great for quick but lasting fertilization. No smelly sacks of manure. Clean and easy to spread around in gardens and vineyards. Flowers and veggies love this stuff. I wish we could get 40–50-pound economic sacks for a refill. Grass responds well also, but my flowers and veggies respond well too. Grape vines are hardy but they like a little power start in the spring. Feeding vines in early spring give them a jumpstart for sweeter grapes in late summer-early fall.
