Cute puzzle
kids love this puzzle. my daughter loved playing with this as a toddler She loved hearing the sounds of the animals. i bought it as a gift for a one year old.

I put the batteries in. It worked for five seconds and then broke immediately.

Haunted- but still a solid good puzzle
I got this for my kiddo for Christmas. Did not know it would be haunted. It makes noises when I turn off the lights for bed- doesn’t matter how far away it is in the room. Turn off the lights - a monkey or snake noice comes out of it. It doesn’t feel demonic or anything - otherwise I would have given it 3 stars. I don’t even mind the ghost attached with the puzzle. Just wish I knew what I was getting into - although I probably would have been MORE inclined to buy it if I knew. My toddler likes playing with it so that’s good. Just a lil heads up about the ghost would have been nice.

Complete fail
This puzzle does not make the correct sounds when items are placed in the slots. It works based on magnets so sometimes the lion will squawk like a parrot or the crocodile neighs like a zebra because the pieces crossed over the other animal on their way to the proper slot. Once in the slot, I've even tried lifting the pieces and replacing it directly over the animal slot, but it will not make a noise. Unless I got a defective puzzle, this product is no good. It is great in theory and I was so excited that I almost bought a whole set when I first came across them. Now I'm glad I waited to see how my son liked this one. It is unfortunate because I'm usually a big fan of Melissa & Doug toys. Would not recommend and won't be buying any other Melissa &Doug sound puzzles.

Quite disappointed
I was quite disappointed to find out when I received this puzzle that it did not include the batteries. Personally I don’t have an issue but I wish I knew in advance so when I gave it to my grandchildren I didn’t look like a fool. No where did the ad say it did not come with batteries.

Sound doesn't work
The sound doesn’t work properly. Some animals don’t work at all. Others only work whenever they decide to. Upsets my son when he can’t get it to work which I’m turn leads to a frustrated mama hiding the toy lol. I will be returning it.

NO SOUNDS
SOUNDS DON’T WORK. Parrot and Zebra make no sounds at all and the other animals are hit or miss.

Does not work
Doesn’t work. It doesn’t make the animal sounds at all or the wrong animal sounds happen randomly. Disappointed since I love this toy brand.

Came a little scratched up, which is fine. I knocked off 2 stars because overall I feel that this puzzle is flimsy compared to other wooden Melissa & Doug puzzles. The animal pieces are thin wood, and the noises sound a little muffled. I do like that I can turn the noise on and off. Its fine for the price, it wasn't very expensive. I'll stick to the plain, thick wooden puzzles next time.

Sound doesn't work
If it were just a regular wooden puzzle I would give it 5 stars because it is sturdy wood, colorful, and easy for little hands to hold. For this price though I could’ve gotten a pack of nice wooden puzzles. But I bought this one because I liked the idea of the animal sounds. Sadly they do not work 90% of the time. And when the sounds do go off it’s at the most random moment. I’d return it but my son lost the zebra.

Good and sturdy but sounds stopped
Had it less than a week and sounds stopped. Changed batteries and it only works on occasion. The snake makes no noise at all. We received it as a present and my son loves all the different animals. We have many Melissa and Doug products this one is great wood quality but not great electric quality.
