Description

The 70-hour* Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier guards against problems caused by dry air in the home. It features an easy to fill 1 gallon tank, ideal for use in medium sized rooms. Silver Clean™ Protection is embedded in the tank to help keep the water tank cleaner longer. Thanks to ultrasonic technology, it disperses a fine mist into the air, and is ultra-quiet making it ideal to have on while you sleep. This table top humidifier has an optional aromatherapy tray so a few drops of essential oil can be added to create a relaxing atmosphere. Q: Can essential oils be diffused in this humidifier?

  • A: That first answer to this is wrong.. There is an optional tray where you can add a couple of drops... just can't put it "in the water". You can use any essential oil, there is no specific oil mentioned.

  • A: I buy a jug of demineralized water for about one dollar per gallon. I find that filters get moldy, in general.

Q: Is the opening to fill the tank large enough to get your hand in to clean the inside?

  • A: You will need to remove the water tank from the base, flip the tank over and unscrew the tank lid that is off center and you will fill the water tank from the area that you removed the tank lid.

  • A: You cannot was any parts of the humidifier in the dishwasher or with boiling water. It is best to clean those parts with a mild dish soap and warm water or with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water.

Q: I have noticed a pink film in the base from the 2nd time I’ve had to refill the tank and every time since. What causes this and what can I do to keep it from coming back?

  • A: The pink/red residue is caused by either contaminants from the air or the water, but more than likely the air. Regular maintenance on the humidifier will help with any residue or calcification that may build up. . You can wash the tank, mist spout, and water tank lid (the lid on the bottom of the blue tank) with a mild dish washing soap, rinsing well, and drying. . In the base of the humidifier, you can soak the ultra sonic disk, using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water for about 5-10 minutes.* . Clean gently with the brush provided. . Drain any excess vinegar and dry with a soft cloth.

Stinks

I clean my humidifier as is stated in the manual and it stinks like mold. I use purified water and change it out often and now it's not useable because it puts out moldy smell. Not recommended.

As close to the old style rotary knob control as you can get. Great for a small room with LONG run time!

I've had their products for years and it seems that most if not all of the new designs use momentary contact buttons (low,medium,high) instead of rotary dials that let you fine tune the output. Well this model really produces a low vapor on low! Much better than the smaller H920BL Nursery version. Funny how something like the H920BL which is designed for a small room blows out too much vapor and runs out of water too quick. Guardian could do a better job at design/marketing so customers dont have to buy multiple units until they find what works best for their situation. Anyhow the H965 is a nice unit that can deliver low vapor with low water usage or really crank out at full speed. The night light really shines bright on the gold fish I have swimming in the tank!

Good deal

Got the one plus one combo from costco at the proce of 99.99CAD. Initially thought the refill lasts 70 hours but in my regular use i see its less than 45 hours not sure where its going wrong. Bought it initially to avoid the daily refills ! hope the manufacturer rectifies it!

Too Much Maintenance

Too much cleaning maintenance. Mold collects quickly and requires cleaning at least twice. Depending on setting. Better to just boil water or set a metal pot on or near the heater.

I am satisfied but I wish that the scented tab was made better to eliminate the Air. And also, if I set it on HIGH, after only 7-8 hrs the water has evaporated. The description said up to 70hrs??? I guess it depends on the room size.

i bought 2, one for next to my tv watching chair, and one for my bedroom. It has helped stop the dryness in my mouth and eyes and head. i am very happy with this product. and, it has nice blue light for nitetime, it's relatively quiet and looks good. very good product for the price as well.

So hard to clean

2 stars for tank capacity and quiet operation. But otherwise, this is a terrible humidifier. There are way too many crevices and it absolutely gets slimey and gross even with weekly cleaning and several different brands of cartridges. Got these at Costco and I'm grateful for their generous return policy.

Relatively quiet and works well

Works well and it’s relatively quiet. I’m a light sleeper and I can’t really hear it but it occasionally makes a glug glug sound throughout the night so I run it on low to minimize the sound. A full tank lasts several days without needing a refill.

love there products expect this one has a few flaws.

i have 2 humidifiers from this company and never had issues ever other than now after 4 months ish use of our newest one gal cool mist which i bought for our infants room. with regular cleaning this and our large 2 gal have been fine until the most recent cleaning where i noticed black bits forming on the 1 gal i was hoping it was dust collection but it is looking more like mildew or mold (super gross) in the tank and the base, i deep clean often and this didnt happen with my larger one which does warm and cool mist the fact that this is in my 5 month olds room is really the worst part, seriously hope customer service has a good solution ive gone quiet long without needing any extra part for my humidifers and this is like my worst fear is mold growing within them. took photos aswell..

Sleep better, breath better

Having allergies and two dogs the air in room is dry. Bought the humidifier and it is so much easier to breath. It has the slot to put essential oils and it keeps the room fresh even with our two doggy additions sleeping in the room.
