Mold!!!

Got this as a gift from Target online, for Christmas. My toddler opened it for Christmas and their were wood pieces with mold on them! Very gross and unhealthy! I’m not sure how that happened, but definitely will be returning.

Great set, lots of pieces

I cannot recommend this set enough. It is so surprisingly cute. It has lots of cute pieces like a cargo boats with magnets, trees, trucks that attach to cargo, and even birds that I wasn’t expecting. There’s lots of items for children to play with and keep them busy. The only problem I see is that the train wheels on the train cars don’t reach the tracks, as if the wheels aren’t tall enough, but the engine car does. This didn’t bother me as much because I purchased a different train anyways.

Love how the Mat is included

All the other train sets I found dont have a mat that it can be placed on. My daughters loves trains/cars and the mat doubles as a race track for her. The pieces are very basic, but I think it makes it timeless.

super cool play set

if you like your kids getting backing to using their imagination and playing with traditional wooden toys, you will like this! I like the range of different pieces - train, cars, boats and trees. The moving bridge and the crane are the favorite parts for my youngest. Mat is quite thin, but means it is easy to roll up and store.

Disappointed

I was drawn to this train set because of the possibility for open ended play. With trains, trucks, boats, trees, and a mat that is just landscaping (no 2D building pictures) I was excited to build play areas around this set with our other toys. You get A LOT of pieces with this set (too many in my opinion, I didn’t even give my kids the road signs, people, buildings, sail boats, and a few others). I love the little trucks (without their trailers), the little wooden trees and the idea/design of the mat but overall this set is just not worth it. I knew that it was a lot smaller than I desired (less than 2’x3’) but the fabric (if you can call it that) of the mat is awful, cheap and thin. The train tracks are basically limited to one configuration and don’t stay together well. Except for (ironically) at the drawbridge where they are meant to come apart but stick. The crane intended to lift “cargo” from the vehicles is awkward in every way making it not worth playing with. 6 of the 12 train wheels are on too tight to rotate. Finally the truck beds don’t connect securely and fall off during play. With so much of the set unfunctional, playing with it quickly became frustrating and boring. Good idea, poor execution.
