Not the quality I expected for the price
Pretty disappointed with the quality of this grocery store. For the price I expected better, we purchased it in the fall as a Christmas gift for my 2 year old,along with most of the available accessories and just over 90 days later the fridge door is already broken, the scanner picks and chooses when to work and this is definitely NOT wood. As we also have a younger child, we hoped that this would last a few years for them both to enjoy, at this rate I have doubts whether it will last until next Christmas.

Scanner broken
I bought this for my son for Christmas and the scanner has already broken. Pretty disappointed for the price of this it should be functioning. Seems like it’s a big issue with this product.

Refridgerator door design flaw - made cheaply
As many others have mentioned the refrigerator door is there in or. A clip broke with normal children’s play. Nothing rough. Contacted the company and they responded that they can’t help me with a replacement part. Even “a paid replacement part”. Upon looking further into the company their customer service is apparently extremely lacking.

Grocery Mart issue

Disappointed
We got the grocery store for my grandson. Everything went well with the assembly until we got to the refrigerator door. The door would not stay on. After a few times the clip on the bottom broke off. I was looking at past reviews and see that this has been an issue for over three years. Part of the problem is that the spring clip cannot hold the weight of the door, this is why it’s falling off. The clip should be on top of the door and bottom hinge ne solid. I can’t believe after all these years nobody could figure out this problem and fix it. Can we please get a new door with the clip on top?

Melissa and Doug Fresh Mart grocery store is a very sturdy product. To start the directions were nice and clear. It took some time to set up but wasn't impossible. I do find this to be rather expensive because you still need to purchase the accessories to use with it. I have been teaching preschool for nearly 20 years. From my experience this toy really is loved the most with 3 and 4 year Olds.

This market set is super fun! My three year old son loves to play with it. Assembly was easy and frustration-free. We dislike the fridge door- why not a legit attatchment instead of just hoping it stays in the little holes. The register is fun with scanning items. However, the rest of the register is lacking. Sounds for swiping credit cards, totalling order, etc would make it more fun. We also found it ridiculous that you have to buy the $20 kit to make it more complete with the apron, quick-grab sign, etc which the photo shows. for the cost it should absolutely come with those items. Overall we enjoy playing with it, though some improvements could be made.

We do not ever like putting toys together. But it happens. I think maybe an hour overall to get it together with two of us. The belt doesn’t turn that well. Gets hung up a lot.
