Good healthy rice
I see a lot of bad reviews about bugs in the bag and also how this rice does not cook properly. I have been buying this rice for a long time and never ever noticed any bugs in any of the bags so I don't know what people talking about bugs and why. Also cooking Brown rice is way way different than white rice so people you can look it up and learn how to make it so that it comes out really good and very tasty. Also the price is cheap won't break the bank like those other rice varieties. So myself no complaints here. Cheers.

Good but do wash your rice!
Overall good but you will have to wash the rice (as there are a noticeable amount of weevils) or freeze it in the freezer for 2 days to kill the eggs before using it. I have noticed that the quality of the rice is way better when you wash it before hand and there are less "crunchy grains." And the biggest tip of all, don't let the rice sit in your pantry for too long because then there will be even MORE adult weevils in your rice as the eggs would have hatched by then.

Love this rice, it cooks well, and tastes good. People, please watch or read a tutorial on how to cook brown rice before leaving a bad review because you don’t know how to cook it. It’s not something you just shove in a pot of water and hope for the best.

Unripe grains bitter taste
I bought this rice to mill into flour. As I poured the bag into the large mill hopper I could see a whole lot of green or partially green grains - I know these to be unripe grains. After milling it into flour anyway, I took a taste afterwards and the taste was not pleasant. Milled brown rice flour usually has a sweetness to it but not this rice. It was almost bitter. I’m guessing it’s because the grains weren’t completely ripe before they were harvested. This was the first and the last time I will purchase this brand. I do not recommend it.

I like that it is a healthier option from white rice. For cooking this rice you want to wash it clean and let it soak in some water for about 30mins before cooking it and rinse clean again. 1 cup of the brown rice= 3.5 cups water Cook with a tablespoon of oil or butter of your choice , season to taste also if you’d like. Cook for 45 mins to 1hr for texture on low which is about (4) on the stove dial covered. I didn’t see any bugs in my package of rice or anything so again ensure the cleaning and washing is first step can’t treat this as white rice since it is grains and etc. Hope this helps someone! Enjoy!

OMG I never write reviews but this was so disturbing.. I bought two bags of these for my daughter’s class Halloween party. I needed them for a sensory play activity and there were bugs everywhere! I couldn’t even use them. Gross!!
