I’ve tried a lot of night guards over time—mostly full-mouth styles—and none of them have worked well for me. I tend to subconsciously spit them out or even pull them out in my sleep, including the ultra-thin ones. I also always struggled to get a good mold with those designs. This is my first time trying a guard that only covers the back teeth, and it’s also the first one I’ve used that comes with a molding tray that only imprints the top teeth. That design made a big difference for me—it was much easier to get the bite right compared to guards that require both the top and bottom teeth to be molded together. Comfort-wise, this is the first night guard I’ve actually been able to keep in all night without subconsciously removing it, which is a huge win. My only real complaint is the molding tray. Even though I have a small mouth, it felt pretty narrow. I have TMJ issues, and opening my mouth wide enough to use the tray was painful. Holding that position and biting down for the full 3 minutes was difficult—I actually had to stop during my first attempt because of the pain. I was able to try again and push through it the second time, and thankfully I ended up with a good mold. One thing I’d recommend watching for: pay attention to how your jaw and teeth feel in the morning. If you wake up with increased jaw pain or new soreness, the bite might be slightly off—even if it seemed fine at first. Also, since this guard only covers the back teeth, it can put more pressure on your molars or slightly change how your jaw sits overnight. If anything starts to feel “off” after a few nights, don’t ignore it—this is something I’ve personally experienced with other night guards. Overall, this is the first night guard that’s truly worked for me, but the molding process can be tough, especially if you have TMJ, and it’s worth paying attention to how your bite feels over time when using any guards.

Too small
I am a small woman and this is too small for my mouth. I’ve tried remolding it over and over and same problem. It doesn’t hug by teeth because not enough material for the sides

Hurt more than teeth clenching
I got this because I've been clenching my jaw, grinding teeth, causing issues. This seemed too small for my mouth. the center piece gets inthe way if the tongue and irritates it. I woke up with more pain than I did without. Now I have a persistent tooth pain I didn't have before.

Previously 5 stars, not the same!
I purchased this exact same product 1-2 years ago. I followed the directions and it came out beautifully!! Fit well, protected well, and loved much more than the dentist fitted guard. My puppy got to it and chewed it up, so I didn't hesitate to purchase another one of these. It is nowhere near the same. I followed directions exactly and then repeated twice (even having my husband supervise on attempt #3). I boiled the water longer and hotter than recommended and still did nothing to help form the guard. Something changed with the material (or directions) and it was a complete waste and also disappointment with something I used to love that worked so well! Don't waste your money with this one until they fix whatever has gone wrong.

anyone who wrote a negative review didn't read or follow the directions
I read all the negative reviews but decided to try this out anyways bc it was pretty much exactly what i was looking for. I read the fitting directions, carefully, all the way through, before starting, and also watched the video. Surprisingly, possibly due to carefully following the directions, my guard formed perfectly the first time and works great. Yes you do have to bite down on it, hard, for 3 straight minutes to get it to form right. It also says that you have to do that in step 5-B. Things to note: -I used a kettle to get my boiling water, not a microwave. It was at a full rolling boil when used -The tray needs to be upside in the water. As in, the blue guard is facing the bottom of the cup and you're looking at the white tray -After the 3.5 minutes in the boiling water, the tray goes straight in your mouth. Do not let it cool down. This freaked me out a bit, but once it was actually in my mouth it wasn't that hot -You have to bite down on it pretty hard. You should feel your teeth sinking into the thing Now that it's formed and set, it has a very low profile but definitely still separates my teeth. I'm able to keep my mouth completely closed with it in, which i was worried about. I've never worn a night guard before, but my dentist recommended me to. This one seems like a good starting point

Read all the negative reviews but still tried it out, I think it works great. Let me preface this review by saying I have a clenching problem, not grinding issues. I’ve had custom night guards from the dentist which I found to be really clunky. I followed the instructions for this to the tee and I think the fit is really great and comfortable. Now I did burn my hand when shaking off the excess hot water and the mold was really hot coming out of the hot water. I didn’t wait for it to cool down because I assumed the mold would also cool down too much so it was a little uncomfortably hot when fitting the mold in my mouth at first. I didn’t see any reviews about using this for the lower teeth, I kind of wish I tried that. The only thing that bothers me is that it has a plastic-y taste, but I hope that disappears over time.

Too thick
I followed the instructions and it did not get soft at all. I tried again with keeping water at a boil on the stovetop the full three minutes. That time it actually worked and made a fairly good impression of my top teeth. However, the bottom was still flat and uncomfortable and resulted in way too thick and not locked in feeling. Would be better if you could form both top and bottom molds.

I followed the directions and it came out pretty good. I bit down hard for 3 minutes and it was uncomfortable, but necessary. I have a professionally formed night guard from the dentist but I don’t like the way it came up halfway on my front teeth. Night guards are not comfortable until you get used to them, even the expensive ones. But I like this one so far!

Impossible to mold
I followed the instructions four times and it did not work. The fourth time, I had to put it in my mouth while it was still boiling hot just so that my teeth would sink in to the guard. I figured: even if it burns it'll be worth it if this thing finally works. It did not. So now I have a burnt mouth and a non-functioning night guard. Absolutely do not recommend.
