I’ve been using Colgate Charcoal Essential for a while now, and I’m really impressed! The charcoal formula makes my teeth feel extra clean and fresh every time I brush. I love this toothpaste! It has a nice texture and aroma. It cleans and whitens teeth very well. The pleasant mint aroma remains for a long time. The packaging is very convenient. Polishing and fresh!
Before I opened it I thought it was going to just be an all-black toothpaste, but the charcoal is only present as strips, so you don't have to worry about black teeth. There's a slight abrasive texture to it that really gets the plaque off. Does a good job at freshening breath.

This paste is not gritty, but smooth texture. The charcoal is wrapped within the paste like a paste itself. My teeth didn't have a leftover residue either. I am a smoker and coffee drinker so hopefully this will take away some staining. I do use a whitening pen after brushing and that helps tremendously.

Steer Clear!
I came to reviews to see if anyone else had a similar experience as me and it appears a few have... after using this toothpaste for a week and a half, I've developed FIVE canker sores in my mouth. It's absolutely awful. After doing some research, I read that "sodium lauryl sulphate" can be linked to canker sore development, and sure enough, it's an ingredient used here. This ingredient is banned in other countries. Sadly now I know why
