This lamp is solidly constructed with actual glass crystals. The cord is cased in thread, not rubber. It's not disposable dorm-room quality. Assembling the lamp is pretty straightforward, and hanging the crystals takes a little time but it's basically hooking the clip through the hole. Comes with the three bulbs you need. My apartment has slants and angles, so I needed something for a low-ceilinged nook. It's not a full-sized floor lamp, but an accent lamp to be used near a chair or couch. My floors are not even, but the lamp stands firmly. Even walking past the lamp doesn't vibrate the hanging crystals like a windchime, which I was nervous about. One caveat is that the lamp is shipped in a big box with a lot of wrapping and styrofoam. So if you decide you don't like the lamp, it's going to be a pain to wrap it all back in everything to return to your nearest Target store.
