I bought these kits to put up inside and outside of my window AC units. I did it alone, but would be easier it 2 people worked in it. I'm very pleased with the product. Will buy again. I bought at a big retail store.

I have been using this product for years. I love it. Last year I moved and did my windows, this time it did not work very good. I have had to do my living room 6 times and I need to do it again. The plastic comes loose from the tape every few weeks. First I thought the tape was coming off the windows, but actually the plastic is coming loose from the tape. I do not understand why that keeps happening. I guess I need to find another brand.

    Pulled up paint

First time we applied film in the house we are in now. Used the competitor’s product several years where we used to live, where all the windows in our mid rise condo were very drafty. In our new-to-us house, only a couple of the windows are drafty, so applied this there. This product is easier to apply because it comes on a roll. However, as you can see, upon removing, the tape pulled up some of the paint from the window molding area where we had applied it. Note the product box clearly states it’s suitable for painted wood. Did not have this problem in our old place with the other product, though to be fair, there much of the tape was applied to metal or vinyl as I recall.

Very frustrating, the tape did not stick whatsoever. I have sealed windows in the past and it was quick and easy. So much wasted time trying to get the tape to stick. The tape would immediately fall off the wall.

Pros: it’s thick, and it comes in a roll, so if you have odd size windows or want to do a few smaller windows this is a super nice feature. Cons: the tape it comes with is horrible. Immediately started peeling off, and the back layer was super hard to get off. I used a roll of weather stripping tape to hold it up and that worked much better. Because it’s so thick, you do not have clear view out the window. I also ran the hair dryer over it for quite a while and “wrinkle release” it did not. 4 stars, because I notice a significant improvement in the draft especially since it’s in the negative degrees here. But I do not plan on leaving this up long term as it looks pretty tacky. Also- it’s $8.49 online and 18.99 in store so definitely pay attention. They price matched for me in store, but I could have easily not noticed and paid way too much. This is not worth $18.99.

The good: I like that it comes in a roll, it was easier to cut to the right size that way and handle. It's thick, and the tape is holding up pretty well except in a couple corners. The bad: like others, mine came with a haze that wipes off wherever you touch it, but I didn't notice it until after it was applied to the windows, so I can't wipe off the back side facing the windows. The thickness of the plastic also means it just isn't as clear as 3M's- my view outside is distorted. It took a long time with the hair dryer on high to get it smooth, and a few weeks later, there's already puckering and wrinkles all over. Overall: I've been using window film for years and have gotten really good at installing it- you normally can't see it at all. This one looks bad and I won't buy it again; I didn't even put it on all of my windows this year because I'm embarrassed by how it looks.

Adhesive Strips WONT stick to window seal

We have 10 windows that we wanted to seal for the winter months. Each window seal was cleaned with an alcohol wiped and let dry properly. Still these duct tape brand adhesive strips would not stick. I tried heating them with the hair dryer to get them to stick and still they stick for a few moments and curl off. If the adhesive strips weren’t faulty this would be a good product. Possibly a bad roll of adhesive, but all and all a waste of money.

it’s useless. The double sided tape that comes with the kit will not stay stick to the plastic sheet. I seems like when it gets cold it just unsticks, defeating the entire purpose of the kit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This does the trick in a pinch. We are using it in the basement as it isn’t the prettiest solution but it is trapping out the cold winter air so the heat bill isn’t quite as high. Great and affordable solution. Thank you.

First time using the max strength. Thicker plastic than the others. I like that it was rolled instead of folded, makes it easier to instal. Installing always tedious no matter the brand. Clean the frames, alcohol wipe frames. Place the tape. Heat the tape so it sticks. Place the plastic. Blow dry for like 10 minutes to get all wrinkles out. Immediate difference in our living room. I had company who didn't notice the plastic till I pointed it out.

I just bought the Max Window Kit. My first impression is not that good. It just isn't as clear has others I have used. Yes it is much thicker and time will tell how good it works. However, even after installation I've noticed a milky film and it hasn't shrunk as tight without wrinkles.
1 reply from mbduckbrand team - 2 years ago
Hi there - we are sorry to hear that you had this issue. When the film behaves in this manner, it usually is due to aging and improper warehousing. Age and temperature extremes can cause the film to deteriorate and break down into its component parts and become oily/milky. Please reach out to us directly for further assistance.

This was very easy to install, and has a thicker plastic than other brands, but it didn't shrink when heat was applied. Luckily it's easy to cut it exactly to the size you need.

These work great once applied but the installation process is rather time consuming and tedious due to the film being on one giant roll that you have to cut down to size.

Luckily I measured this pretty close to the exact size of my window, because it did not shrink at all when I applied heat with my hair dryer. It did make the window less drafty, however I previously used a different brand that shrank immediately upon using the hair dryer so I will be using the other brand for my remaining windows.
