Q: can this be used/installed in rear-facing mode using only car seatbelt in a car without isofix? I tried another car seat and it was only possible to use in forward-facing mode.

Q: We use turned the car seat around to forward facing. We are having a hard time pulling the strap to tighten the harness when our child gets buckled in. Are we doing something wrong?

  • A: We have the same issue! It feels like we are going to break our wrists just to tighten the strap to fit our toddler. We will have to get a different carseat because there is no way the grandparents can tighten the straps enough.

Easy to install

We love this car seat! It’s got sturdy material that is easy to remove for cleaning if need be. It has the should strap cushions which makes it easy to tighten the seat straps enough without them digging into the baby. The inserts for younger kids seem very cushiony and comfortable for long rides. The car seat is easy to install and easy instructions to follow for each stage of life. This is our third Graco convertible car seat we’ve purchased and we love it just as much as the other two seat models. Three different car sizes so three different models are needed for fit. That’s why we love graco.

Ordered 2 during the target car seat trade in. Had them both delivered. One was delivered with the top of the box slightly dented. We haven’t used them yet. But we did take one out and fiddle with it and it seems good enough. The tether to tighten the straps does seem a bit difficult to tighten. So far that’s my only complaint.

The poorest fitting straps I've ever encouncered

The straps fit terribly. We’re usually fans of Graco, using their seats for our older child. We bought this as a secondary seat for my husband’s vehicle and when I put baby in for the first time the straps fit horribly! They seem to be set so wide apart that they slide off his shoulders. The seat is advertised as “from birth” and babe was well over the seat’s minimum weight when I put him in weighing 11 lb and 23”. I regret this purchase and am out the money because I bought it about 6 weeks before he was born, and then didn’t use it until he was over 2 months old so I can’t even return to target.

Easy to Use

Pros: It's fairly compact, very adjustable, and pretty straightforward to install. Cons: Like other reviews state, the straps are really difficult to tighten appropriately. It got easier once we lost the shoulder strap pads, but it's still quite difficult. It isn't fun to wrangle a screaming toddler into this thing only to realize the straps won't tighten. This isn't necessarily the fault of the seat, but my one year old also hates it with a passion.

Worth the savings for a backup seat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a good purchase as a backup in grandmas car. Not sure I’d recommend as the primary seat - reviews about the straps being hard to adjust and the seat being harder to install are valid. However, for the cost difference and how infrequently you’re having to use those features, they’re a good buy. Where we struggled with the install, we easily solved this by going to the fire dept and getting help there. For our toddler, the seat comfort, strap quality, etc all felt exactly like our more expensive Graco seat.
