GoodCook Ready Soft Grip Can Opener

This can opener is poor quality. Within 3 months it was having trouble opening cans. after about 5 months the handle fell off. There wasn't a screw to tighten so I had to throw it away. I don't eat canned food often so this got fairly light use.

This opener was great when I first bought it, but within a month or so it wasn’t working at all. It gets stuck, shreds the metal or the paper of the can, and never opens quickly or cleanly. It’s not worth the money, even though it’s one of the cheaper options. I’ve learned my lesson and am going to buy an expensive one that works now.

Terrible. Worked maybe 3 times before the handle stopped spinning the gears. It also doesn't properly cut or grip the can, so it just rotates right off.

I found it a little difficult to get this opener to latch on to the edge of the can at first, but it gets easier with practice. The handle is hard plastic, but oversized so it's very easy to hold and turn. That's especially important to me because I have arthritis in my hands and find the smaller-handled can openers difficult to use. Once you get this opener started, it opens cans neatly leaving a clean edge. The construction feels quite sturdy, so I'm confident so far this will last a long time.

I only wish the grips were softer, they are coated in a hard plastic rather than ones that have rubber coated grips. I like the color, no boring black. All in all a great basic can opener with no frills. Safe and easy to use.

She was to clean it with no food residue on it. She used water to rinse it off and the residue just came right out and when she washed it with soap, it was clean.
