Change formula
Why they have to change the formula, beside it has a horrible smell, my face looks different when I apply it. I thought it was me, but then I used the old bottle. Thanks god I keep it, then I could see the difference. Time to change to a new brand

BEWARE: FORMULA CHANGE!!
Been using this product for more than 5 years. Just repurchased 3 weeks ago. Immediately noticed a package change I had been waiting on for years. No more safety cap at the top but instead a twist cap to lock and unlock the product. Major pro there! However after using the product for the first time Immediately noticed new formula is very watery and runny. Smell seemed a little off. No longer that pleasant baby powder smell but a displeasing smell that stays with you for hours on end. Kiehl's did the same thing to their facial fuel spf20 years ago and I'm sure they have regretted it since but never bothered to change the formula back. Let's hope Jack Black does the right thing or they will lose tons of customers over this.

New Formula Woes
I've been using this product for years, and my most recent order seems noticeably runnier than usual and has a displeasing sour smell to it. Tried shaking the bottle up and discarding the first few globs hoping it was just an issue at the top. No such luck, will be throwing in the trash.

Unhappy with Formula Change
I’ve been using this same moisturizer for years now and recently I’ve learned that they’ve changed the formula. Now the moisturizer is runny and makes my face red maybe irritated after putting it on. Before I had zero breakouts and swore by this stuff as being the best but now I feel betrayed and disappointed.

What Happened to the Go-To Men's facial sunscreen?
Geez! What happened? I've been using this for 11 years and then the latest batch is terrible! Verified by looking at the new ingredients list that this is different in the first few ingredients. Eyes burn and it feels greasy. I see they upped one of the "active" ingredients, but the overall feel and scent is not good. How do you not listen to all these loyal customers and not go back to the previous formula?! Time to find a new product line.

New formulation is terrible. Looks like plenty of people have mentioned this, so I’ll just say please make it clear when you have fixed it so I can continue using. I don’t have the bottle- I threw it out after it burned my eyes. It’s a runny watered down mess that you can immediately tell has been purposely made worse. The all over wash, face wash, and this moisturizer has been a staple in my home for years. I love all of your products and don’t want to take my business elsewhere if I can avoid it. It’s 2026- chat gpt exists. It takes 5 seconds to copy paste an ingredient formulation and see that it’s been made worse. You guys can’t get away with this stuff anymore, make it abundantly clear that you reformulated and why. If it’s anything other than an honest attempt at improving the product then maybe leave it alone?

Hi Tyler, All SPF products containing Octinoxate and Oxybenzone had to be reformulated following Hawaii's Senate Bill 2571 which banned those two active ingredients. The decision to reformulate Double-Duty was made to ensure we're in compliance with this new law and can continue selling our Double-Duty product in the market. We always do our very best to match the quality and efficacy of the original formula when we do have to reformulate, and it's clear based on the reviews we're seeing that we've missed the mark somewhere. We're continuing to review customer feedback alongside our Customer Care, Quality and Safety teams. Bad change of formula
I have been using this product for over a decade and they recently changed the formula, consistency is different and the lotion now smells chemically. Skin feel is totally different. Will be finding an alternative unless they go back to the original formula.

CAUTION NEW FORMULATION: EYES BURNING
I have been a lifelong purchaser of this product. The updated formula is horrible. Both my husband and my eyes were burning after applying, and the smell is really off. We had to stop using. I wish they would inform loyal customers of re-formulations versus having us learn by a bad reaction. SO DISAPPOINTING that we need to find some other brand to use now. So much for being a life-long customer.

What were you THINKING?
Another 10-plus-year user of this product joining the chorus of negative reviews—I don't mind the smell of the new formula so much as the taste, which somehow manages to creep into my mouth no matter how studiously I avoid my lips (which I never had to do with the old formula). I'm actually impressed at how quickly and thoroughly they managed to destroy this product—there's a clear shift ~5 months ago from almost entirely 5-star reviews to exclusively 1-star, mostly from the most loyal customers. I mean did they do any testing at all? Or were the cost savings just worth the implosion in quality? Wild to see play out in real-time.

I've been using this product for years, and just bought a new (large) bottle because I use it every day and didn't want to run out. What a mistake! The smell is totally different, and very unpleasant and chemical. My eyes immediately started burning and watering after I put it on, which has never happened before. I thought it must have been a bad bottle, until I checked the back and realized that the formula had been changed without any warning. I didn't think to check reviews because of my history with the product, but now I wish I had. What a waste of money - time to find a new moisturizer, sadly.

Used to be great, smells awful now
I bought a bottle of this and really liked it. When I ran out, I bought the same bottle but it had a really putrid, sour smell to it. I thought it might be the specific bottle I got, so I bought a second one...equally stinky. Something about it smells almost like bug spray or paint thinner. It's a distinct sour, putrid smell. Not sure what happened, but this stuff smells awful. I wish I'd have seen the reviews earlier. This lotion isn't cheap, and good face lotion is hard to come by. Not sure what changed, but don't change something good. The other products I have from JB - face wash, beard oil, balms, etc. - are all really nice. Something about this lotion, though, just smells terrible.

Quality is bad with new Formula
New formula is terrible - the consitency is very runny and liquidy and oily. No longer a thicker creme. I've been using this product for 10 years atleast and its sad that I need to find an alternative.

I opened a brand new 16oz bottle this morning to apply after my shower. I didn't notice it at first but there was this stale, mildew smell that has not left my nose for the last two hours. On top of that the ingredients have changed! Be warned that this product will irritate your eyes and will cause your eyes to burn. How does a company ruin such a great product.
