This toy offers a vibrant and engaging way for young children to develop essential skills such as color, shape, and number recognition. The hippo design is appealing, and the birds are easy for little hands to grip. However, some guests have experienced issues with the lid not securing properly, which affects storage and playability. Despite this, many guests appreciate its educational value and the joy it brings to their children.

    Collapsing Lid

My grandson is one and has learned how to place the birds in slots. Problem is the lid isn't secure and falls off very easily. I considered taping it but will lose storage capability when not in use.

    LOVE

My sons 4 1/2 and 3 love this hippo we got from marketplace on Facebook. It’s soooo worth it! We all love how the birds turn and sound like gears, the different colors, a shape on each one, and a number! So nice for color, shape, and number learning! The back of the hippo can come off to store the birds. We do toy rotations now, and this hippo is a big hit!

    Horrible design

Lid does not close or stay on. The birds pegs do not fit in the holes and fall off. Horrible design. Will be returning

I would definitely buy again and highly recommend

Beautiful and vibrant coloured design. My 1 year old can put the birds into the holes and also into the hippo's back for storage. Wonderful toy to develop fine motor skills.

    Would recommend a different toy

I don't like how the lid won't stay, it's too lose and will fall off and hard to store the birds inside unless thoughtfully (by an adult) put inside. Cute idea just wish it was designed better. Could have the inside of the head area to use but they didn't make that available.

    Good idea with bad design

The top does not fit or stay on the body so child can not put the birds on it without it all coming apart. Basically they can’t play with it because it doesn’t stay together. We had a replacement sent and the second one has the same issue. I believe it to be a manufacturing issue or the toy is just poorly designed. Really sad it doesn’t work bc my child really wants to play with it but gets frustrated when they can’t because it doesn’t stay together. Good idea with bad design. Will be calling to see if I can get refund bc replacement is just as bad as original. Wouldn’t recommend buying.

A good way to teach fine motor skills..

This gorgeous friendly Hippo is a great way to let young children explore colours.. first numbers and refine their hand to eye coordination and fine motor skills. Huey, along with his colourful bird friends are all very well made, and easy to grip with little hands. The birds are brightly coloured, and feature numbers on their sides.. prompting..' can you find the the red bird with the number 4 on it? '.. to help teach colour and number recognition. On the other side of the birds, it features shapes, to help with shape recognition. Place the birds in the hippo's back and give them a twist. I got this for my 4 year old who has some difficulties with his fine motor skills, and he absolutely loves it! The birds can be neatly stored inside the hippo's back for safe keeping whilst not in use. The whole set is very well made, and feels like it can withstand lots of use.
