  • A: Hello, this is from FoodSaver We do not recommend washing FoodSaver bags using dishwasher. You can hand wash FoodSaver bags and re-use them. However, it depends on the previous contents of the bag. FoodSaver® Bags that previously contained fruits, vegetables, breads and dry goods can be washed and reused. FoodSaver® Bags that contained raw meats, fish, eggs or un-pasteurized cheese should be discarded after use because they may contain invisible bacteria that will remain after washing. FoodSaver® Bags that contained greasy or oily foods should also be discarded, as they may be difficult to clean. FoodSaver® Bags can be washed by hand. Dry completely.     Sadly not as good as the old ones

    The old ones worked great, but these new ones seem thinner and I think it's creating a problem with the suction process. When sealing, the suction device seems to grab the back/second layer so I've had to wiggle it around to get it to work well. So sad... I really appreciate the convenience of the hand held rather than the huge sealing device I have no storage space for.

    Bag it!

    These bags are so versatile. They can be used in so many situations. I use them to keep some of my favorite foods from spoiling while in the fridge as I eat a variety from day to day. For example, hot dogs today, scrapple tomorrow, hot dog rolls with my hot dogs, and on and on. When not eating one item, it's safely stored in a reuseable bag.

    Tried everything, won't stay sealed

    Even after having been over the instructions over and over and over these don't stay sealed. I think I figured out the problem: When I run my fingers across the seal, the cross-hatch design gives the plastic a "grain" and, like sewn objects with a diagonal grain, the plastic just doesn't sit straight enough for the zippers to lie perfectly horizontal. Invested tons of time and money into cooking, freezing, and bagging and everything is coming unsealed, we have to reseal everything every few days.

    Gallon Freezer bags

    I love these bags, a little too big, but the quart size freezer bags are to small, so they work pretty good, a Halg Gallon size would be perfect. The only problem I have with them is some times they get air in them when there in the freezer so I have to check them & reseal them.

    What a waist of Time & Money

    Bought yesterday 100% so far "FAIL".Bags do not seal (Like right now) Believe others who warned of "No Sealing" I also tried all published hacks. Expensive end table doilies???? A real Joke

    Very Economical Storage

    I love the resealable and reusable vacuum bags. They are good quality- thick and hold up for multiple uses. Saves a lot of money vs using the original, one use bags all the time for foods that don't need that level of storage such as vegetables and cheeses. Ive used Food Saver system for over 35 years and don't know what I would do without it.
