Constat signal dropout and freeze
I purchased this a while ago, but ended up replacing it after a month due to frequent and constant dropouts, requiring a reboot every single time. It was fast with very good coverage when it worked, but who want anything that disconnects every few minutes? Now it sets peacefully in the closet collecting dust !!! Best place for it.

Works sometimes
I have been running the S36 on spectrum and it seemed to be working ok. Then I started getting intermittent drops. That went on for a few months and then starting in mid January 2025 it started dropping connection regularly. Had the Spectrum people out here multiple times and nothing seems to fix the issue. Now it drops multiple times a day and the event logs clearly show a timeout communicating to the central isp hub. The only thing of note is I only have 2 upstream connections and both are below the recommended threshold. So I’m getting frequent CMTS timeouts. The ISP says the problem is in my modem.

Does NOT Work with Xfinity
I bought a brand new G36 and worked with over 10 Xfinity agents to get it activated and working, over in 8 hour period, and I woke up this morning and it doesn't work. I just spent the last 3 days doing the same thing with a G34 router. They both have blazing fast 5G and intermittent 2.4. So if you have devices connected to 2.4, like cameras doorbells security systems light bulbs, they're going to go offline 20 times a day. There is no fix it's absolutely horrible do not buy this product ever.

Xfinity pays this company
I bought this modem cause this is what Comcast recommended on their website but now I come to realize that Comcast got to be paying this company to keep this product from working properly. The G 36 is supposed to be a 2.5 GB modem and Wi-Fi router all in one. The only speeds I get is 5 to 600 MB and my Xfinity plan is gig times two and I’m not getting nothing nowhere near those speeds and I’ve had six different modems from this company

Doesn't work with Xfinity, Arris doesn't help
It will keep losing packets with Xfinity. Arris support doesn't help.

Not supported by Xfinity
Xfinity recommends this modem for customers who choose to provide their own hardware and the modem is advertised as supporting Xfinity, and yet there are constant issues while Xfinity refuses to do anything about it.

6 months use before it stopped working. Had xfinity come out and troubleshoot why I lost service. It was this modem.

Compatible with Xfinity? Intermittently drops out
I purchased this gateway modem because it was on the Xfinity approved list for my area in San Francisco. The Internet connection, which is Ethernetted to the G36, intermittently drops out. This modem is not truly compatible with Xfinity.

Low Owner satisfaction!
I bought this about a year ago, set it up and though it works for the speed advertised, I then realized it had no VOIP functionality. Not enough info indicating that was not included. The Modem seems unstable, my wifi security cameras intermittently disconnects. The control interface on the phone app is ridiculous! Cannot do much and the web interface is not much better. Very poor design for any intuition. Stll can't figure out how to set parental controls.

So far the best cable modem I have had
I upgraded from a previous generation cable modem, just wanted a DOCSIS 3.1 modem and a Wi-Fi 6 router. The G36 works really well with Xfinity and so far, I have not experienced any interruptions. The mobile app was somewhat helpful during the setup. The last step was to change the admin password on the router, but the app would refuse to accept my responses to captcha, so I manually completed the setup and uninstalled the app. I also manually selected the Wi-Fi channels using a Wi-Fi analyzer and disabled SIP ALG just in case. The 5G signal is pretty strong. The modem is located at the corner of our 2-story 3.5k sq-ft home and the download speed is well above 200 Mb/s everywhere.

Not good with xfinity
Wanted to save money and stop paying xfinity for modem rental. This unit keeps losing connection multiple times daily. Look for something else if you have cfinity

Doesn't support Xfinity well. Recall needed.
Daily Internet outages on Wi-Fi and the latest firmware update to fix the problem did nothing. This model should get a recall.

This is a crap modem
I bought this cable modem 6 months ago, during this time I have had ongoing problems. For the first month it worked fine then the problems started, all of my devices would lose connection (including my hard wired tv), the only way to fix was to unplug and reboot. Then after a few months of this it all of a sudden there were no more issues. I assumed they had done a software upgrade, I was wrong it started again after a few months. I feel like they stole my money selling me this piece crap. Stay away from this…

Not for use with Xfinity
Purchased this and thought I would be happy, but would drop once or twice a day. From the message boards it seems like this is a know problem with Xfinity and this model. You might want to reconsider another brand. It’s been 8 months if I understand correctly and no fix has been found. I’m not sure if everyone that has xfinity experiences this problem or not, but buyer beware. If you do choose to get it I recommend buying from a retail with a 39 day refund, I wouldn’t want anyone to waste there money on a product that is known to have issues. It may work or it may not. Though there is a chance you will have problems. i suggest waiting for a fix. I had another Arris product my brother bought for the house and we had no problem except the range was not as far. I do prefer the protection of WiFi 6 even though I have read that it’s not perfect. It feels more secure with the WPA 3 standard.

Webgui and app conflict each other
I bought this months ago and I’m impressed with the speed and strong signal. My internet plan is only 300mbs but I’m achieving 600-700mbs easily, 1200mbs on my iPhone. My app always says I need to activate its buggy and I don’t use it. The web interface is nice just wish when you change something it would save. Like name a device from unknown to iPhone save . Go check later still says unknown. Much improvement over rented router/modem and save money.
