Not salt water friendly

The assembly and overall construction of this portable basketball hoop is very decent. However, the paint used is very thinly applied. I was hoping it was a powder coating, but it looks like just plain paint. I have a salt water pool and within 24 hours I'm getting rust forming around the hoop and down at the bottom of the adjustment bar. The retaining nut easily scratched the paint and rust formed from there first. At some point, I'm going to have to break it down and send repaint all the metal using Rustoleum paint and really saturate the weld point. Then, slob on silicone grease on the adjustment part, just to try and keep the salt water from getting inside.

Easy to assemble

Was easy to assemble and seems sturdy. The net doesn't go as high as I thought so will be good for my 3 year old but not for my 9 year old.

Would recommend

So we didn¡¯t want to buy the baby plastic hoop for my cute wild little boy, so we bought this as an alternative. I am very happy with our decision. It is literally like a real hoop just short. We got it when my son was 1.5 and now he is almost 2 and LOVES it. Plus the hoop holds up really well.The only con I can think of is, when you shoot the net sometimes swings and gets stuck on the other hooks that hold the net. It¡¯s pretty annoying. We just hammered the hook to the side/more in and haven¡¯t had that issue again.
