A: We do not recommend using this gate at the stop of the stair for safety and security reasons. It does require the ability to screw it in something - wall, door jam, wooden railing - in order to mount it.

Q: How do i uninstall/remove the mount, that holds the mesh part, from my banister?

A: To remove the gate, you will be pushing and holding onto the circular lock release button while sliding the gate outwards from the upper mount and upwards from the lower mount. There is an image of how to remove the gate in the instruction book under the "Operating Your Gate" section, step 3.

Zero stars, does not work.
This gate should not be sold. I wish I had checked reviews, but have had only good experiences with this brand before now. This gate is absolutely useless, anyone can simply push against the opening side to detach it from the wall. The tension is so insane that it’s almost impossible to pull out to latch, really nothing about it works. Very disappointed.

Not user friendly
Really difficult to use. You cant use one hand to open and close it, so if you're holding your child or hands are full, it wont work. The fabric somehow got twisted so now the latch handles wont sit flush. The gate is on our bathroom door and we have to pull the entire gate off to be able to close our door. For $30, I expected way better. It takes serious strength to use. I thought it was just me but then after reading the reviews, I realized a lot of others has the same issue. Im sure there are ones out there that are way better!

This is actual trash. I can't believe Regalo sells this product. The gate is totally insecure even when installed carefully. The latch mechanism does not stay engaged. The wall mounts are also weak. Don't buy this unless you want your child to die. I don't understand how this product can be sold in America. I want my money back.

Avoid!
The ‘locking’ mechanism to keep it secure in the wall mount is faulty and will not secure fully. Terrible design and cannot get refund since we opened the box to discover this.

Don't waste your money!
First one I purchased stopped locking after a month. Thought I'd give it a second chance, the second one I bought the bottom plastic bracket broke twice, having used the spare from my first gate. Very disappointing when you buy it to keep kids and pets safe.
