Disappointed
We assume you need an absolutely flat floor for this bin. In our old house the bin wobbled, the bottom bin wouldn’t stay underneath and the lid of the top bin popped open on its own.

This replaced a previous purchase which hadn’t lasted long enough. However it fits perfectly in a corner so I had to buy the same again. I hope it lasts longer than the previous one

Great looking bin
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have replaced our kitchen and the double side by side bin just didn’t have a home any longer. My ideal would have been a bin hidden in a cupboard but we didn’t have a suitable cupboard so looked for a bin with the same capacity as the old one but with a smaller footprint. When it arrived my husband said it was too small- I had to find both bins online to show him the capacity is the same. We have had the Totem for almost a month and it is great, no bending down for the top bin and the good caddy is an excellent idea and means food waste can be take. To the outside bin separately and more frequently. I love the stainless steel finish and have also bought the dish rack, sink caddy and soap dispenser to match.

Good looking, well built.
Feels solid, looks smart. Good that there’s two equal containers for the waste and recycling. Only down side is you have to press the button with your hand opposed to foot to open the lid, so it gets a bit mucky.

Love it!
I love this bin! I looked at bins for months and just couldn’t quite find what I wanted. But this is perfect. I love the little food bin inside it. It’s compact and really good size. You can also get a large amount of rubbish and recycling in the bins. I love how the bottom bin rolls out on wheels, so smooth and easy. It looks good as well. It is expensive, but I do feel it’s worth it. Joseph Joseph are always great quality and very useful items.

Good compact bin Needs emptied daily but somewhere to keep the recycling etc rather than a counter top. The food caddy isn’t the biggest but it’s a neat solution

Not Colour Shown
We were so disappointed when we finally took this out of the packaging (as we had waited until we were in our new home) and found that the lid and base is brown and not black as shown in the images. Love the actual bin, but such a shame about the colour, too late to send back and with how expensive it was, we'll just live with it.

Just awful. It’s definitely got some good ideas but the execution is shocking. The bags are so tight that they are difficult to fit on and almost impossible to get off without destroying them in the process. Also, the pictures show a grey lid and lower handle in the metal version. It isn’t, it’s brown. I usually love JJ products but this his abysmal.

Who knew recycling could be elegant?
With one purchase I have acquired a sleek bin: eliminated an untidy bag for recycling, a separate bin for compost and a far too large upright waste bin. Hurrah! The 40l is just perfect for a small household.

Good but not great
This is a good product but not a great one. The concept is great - three bins in one space, but the execution is flawed. Having the food waste caddy sit within the main bin means that it takes up almost a third of that bins space so if you leave the caddy there, you're going to end up needing to empty your bin and replace its liner more frequently. Speaking of liners, whilst the main bin has been designed with air slots to allow the liner to properly expand into the space, the food caddy has not been similarly designed and it's quite frustrating how often you need to adjust the liner to prevent it from slipping into the caddy. I've ended up removing the caddy from the bin and storing it on my kitchen worktop, but its triangular design means it's not a great use of worktop space. The recycling bin compartment is excellent, the plastic insert seems strong and is easy to clean after emptying. The waste bin compartment is also excellent, apart from the issue with the food caddy mentioned above.

Great Compact All-in-one Bin
Looks great, nice and sturdy and so easy to have everything all in one place. Rather than separate bags or boxes. Only down side is that it is a little expensive, but is robust and should last well.

Very happy customer.
After doing much research, I bought the 60L Totem, but it was just too big for my kitchen. The 40L is perfect in every way. The parts move smoothly and the organization is exactly what I wanted. The only critical thing I can say about it is that fingerprints do show pretty easily on the release lever and lid, but nothing a damp paper towel doesn't fix.
