Q: Does it work by filtering between rooms even with the doors closed?

submitted by PPmartini - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your interest in Blueair. It's most efficient to run the air purifier with the door closed, as it can cleanse the air more effectively. However, with the door open, it will still clean the air but can take longer since new air is always being reintroduced through the open door.

Q: I have a small 2bd apartment. Probably around 1500 sq ft. Can i use only one of these? Thanks

submitted by Carlos - 6 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your question! The Blue Pure 211i Max is designed to clean the air up to 1,524 ft² in 30 minutes. Based on the size of your two-bedroom apartment (around 1,500 ft²), one unit can cover the entire space effectively if you keep doors open and allow good airflow between rooms. We recommend placing the purifier in a central, open area to maximize performance. We hope this helps!

Blueair 211ii Max Air Purifier

This air purifier as worked very well from the start. I've been using it for several weeks. It has already greatly reduced the amount of dust on the furniture! I run it on the Auto setting and it promptly responds to any kitchen-generated odors from cooking. The unit can be controlled from the app via WiFi which I find useful; with additional control of it compared to using just the buttons of the top of the purifier. However, you can use the air purifier just fine without using the app. It is very quiet and does not affect my ability to satisfactorily hear the TV. The overall design is clean, modern and unobtrusive. It is a quality device and I highly recommend it.

So disappointed and surprised due to brand

6 mos after purchase I changed the filter which I orders direct from Co. and slowly began noticing a weird smell so of course I searched every inch of the room before I stuck my nose over the purifier. This is a known issue with the filters because of the glue and other chemicals to make the filter. So my room was worse off with this than without for 2 weeks as that’s how long it took to smell like something wrong. Bought the larger one 311 and the motor died same time 6 months. Did all troubleshooting steps. It rattles loud upon turning on so something is wrong with quality control. Even when the repair or replace I have to buy more air purifiers until this process is complete due to severe medical need.

One is great, the other sounds like a dying motor inn ac unit.

As far as app and purification, they seem great. One of has a soothing sound through all speeds. The other sounds like a bearing is bad. Will update with resolution.

Disappointed

Not sure it's working, blue light comes on from day one, excellent air? Sprayed perfume, light doesn't change. Display went from 0 to 2 for about a minute. I can't say if it doesn't work or not

Great Unit thus far. Have only used it one week. It cleans the air effectively in a large open 2 floors high and wide open to breakfast nook. It runs on a timer from 7am to 10 pm.

Need Better Operating Instructions

The directions in the "Getting Started" pamphlet are brief and confusing. What's the point of the Toggle? What's the suggested setting if I use the Toggle? The Night mode seems to shut everything off; is it supposed to do this? The Auto mode causes the system to continually cycle from low to high fan settings. If I run it this way all night the changing fan speeds keep me awake. It seems to work best when I set the fan to Speed 3 and leave it on all night.

Very quiet compared to Shark

This is very nice so far. Hopefully it lasts more than a few months unlike my Shark. This cleans the air quick! I have had it for a week or so now and my nose is not stuffy anymore! Also, all other air purifiers must make a very high pitch noise that scares my dogs- as soon as I replaced my Shark with Blue- my dogs stopped shaking and pacing around! LOVE IT- so far.

Excellent Unit

There is a lot less dust on my furniture since I purchased and plugged this in. I keep it on auto 24/7 as recommended and I cannot hear the fan at all, very quiet The only time I heard the fan so far was when I was cooking and it picked up on the particles in the air, the fan increased and it showed the increase in particle count on the display, and the unit is clear across the room from the stove. This is a quality unit at a good price I am well pleased.

2nd 211i

This is the 2nd 211i I’ve ordered. I thought I’d have to put it in the back of the house for silence, but it is so quiet that I have it right in the living room with the TV and in the center of conversation. I love BLUEAIR products.

We operated the blueair but it only registered 0 particles except one time when cooking, then it registered 30 particles. I mailed it back with a provided label and am waiting for my refund.

New customer

I installed my new 211i Max yesterday in my small cottage. I disengaged the wifi feature and set the unit to Auto. It has run on lowests fan speed and the display has continued to show a 0 for the particle count. This morning I moved the unit to the bedroom, closed the door and ran the fan on high speed for an hour. Again the particle count showed 0. I am surprised that 1. the fan speed has not increased and 2. the particle count is 0. It is hard to tell if this is actually working, this seems to tell me that there is no dust in my cottage, dust is why I bought this unit. I did vacuumn the area where the sensors are although the unit is new so this should not be an issue Hopefully Blue Air can explain this here on this forum. Do I have to engage the wifi feature for the unit to work properly? I cannot rate this properly until I use it for a while. Thank you!
