Poor quality

Poor build quality. I was looking forward to the lamp, but was left frustrated and disappointed. The step says to remove the protection clips and then screw the rod to the base. I removed the clip and tried to screw in the rod, but it wouldn't screw in. The thread was not properly done. Tried different solutions, but nothing worked. Also got stuck halfway and no amount of reasonable force would make it go further. Defect on a basic step at this price point is disappointing. Dissembled and returned.
