Q: are these compostable?

  • A: Check with your local diaper composting service. Dyper brand diapers in general are not compostable through municipal composting services - human and animal waste must be treated and managed separately than compostable food scraps and untreated paper products, etc. I contacted EarthBaby (now ReDyper SF) that services the SF Bay Area, and they do compost the Dyper Charcoal diapers. They will soon also be offering the charcoal diapers and wipes but could not yet give an eta on when.

  • A: No wetness indicator due to the color of the material, which is more like Batman gray than Black. Didn't miss it at all though.

Q: Why is the outer layer enhanced with charcoal - it isn't coming into contact with any of the smelly stuff? Shouldn't it be on the inside layers actually abosorbing the urine?

  • A: Layer next to the skin is pure white 3D embossed plant-based material that let's the urine go throuh into the core of the diaper where it is locked. Outside keeps the locked stuff in.

    Worth it

    I purchased these expecting them to be a gimmick, but they actually worked! Our EBF baby had their longest sleep stretch to date. I’m so pleasantly surprised! The fit is excellent our girl is 90 in height and 25% weight and has been in an in between size with other brands. This fit perfectly for her. I love the design and just beyond happy to have gotten more sleep!

    Leaks every time

    Supposedly these are Dyper's most absorbent diapers. They're definitely the most expensive, but we've had leaks every time -- including on a plane ride when I specifically picked this diaper since I thought it would be the best for going numerous hours without a change. Definitely do not recommend.

    Wanted to love

    Bought these diapers because I always look for natural clean products, but every time I went to change him he would have tiny gels beads all over. That’s definitely a no go for me. They need to be sealed better especially for active little ones

    These diapers are fine except there is no wetness indicator. An absolute essential for any parent and a basic feature for all diapers for YEARS. I will not buy these again.

    Love these, sensitive skin approved

    We had such trouble finding a diaper not filled with chemicals that would irritate my daughters skin. We spent so much money trying different diapers, even honest brand. We stumbled across these and have never changed since. They're pricey but worth it! On a side note, I did write the company about their packaging. We found an even bigger box online which was better value but they waste so much money on how they individually box each set of diapers. They still haven't responded which I don't appreciate. I just asked if they could package a different way which could help lower their buying customer costs

    Not great for babies on the move

    I loved dyper diapers up until my baby became more mobile. They are great for overnight but for daytime they won’t hold up to an active baby. We have had countless ones break apart inside and leave the little gel beads everywhere. Also, on hot days the black can come off on baby’s skin. This means we go through more diapers than otherwise need bc we have to change the baby more often to prevent breakage.

    Obsessed!

    I have twins with SUPER sensitive skin and these diapers haven’t broke them out in rashes at all. Very thick and absorbent. The feel of them is very luxe and I love the black for aesthetic reasons as well as the charcoal. Love these diapers!

    Left black residue on babies skin

    Definitely sticking with the original Dyper diapers. The black just seems for looks. It left black residue on my daughter around her legs. No wet diaper indicator also. Not a fan and definitely won’t be purchasing again.

    Would Give ZERO Stars if I Could

    I bought these because I love the original Dypers and I imagined that I would love these just as much. These diapers are terrible. I’ve had about 8 of them break on the inside so that all the little jelly material that absorbs the liquid gets into every crevice of my child. I can’t imagine this to be safe in any capacity.
