The Nespresso Vertuo Pop Plus machines use patented Centrifusion™ technology, an intelligent brewing system that allows the machine to recognize the capsules and create a perfect cup of coffee according to the specific parameters of each brew to gently and fully brew your capsules by spinning the capsules within the machine. When rotation of the capsule starts, a pressure is implied due to the centrifugal forces. The layer that forms on top of each brewed coffee is a combination of coffee and air called the crema and is naturally created during the extraction process. Crema is a sign of high-quality coffee and has been a signature feature of our espresso. It does not contain any dairy or additives and will gradually subside as you enjoy your coffee. As each blend brews according to its own unique parameters, there is no way to adjust the amount of crema that forms. The Vertuo Pop Plus machine was designed to produce crema on both the Espressos and the large-cup coffees as the coffee is gently extracted using our patented Centrifusion™ technology. The Vertuo Pop Plus crema is airier and richer. The crema serves to lock in flavor and heat and thus enhance the tasting experience. The added ritual of folding in the crema releases the aromas, alters the texture, and mixes the layers to create a unique and flavorful beverage. We recommend running a priming cycle through your machine once a week to assist with keeping the taste, texture, body and aroma in each brew. We also recommend descaling your machine every three months or 300 capsules, whichever comes first.
