Helped my digestion in just one day!

I had no idea I was very low in stomach acid until doing some testing home-based testing suggested by a dietitian. Taking the HCL right before every meal has made a huge difference. I am digesting things easily, in a way that I can't remember doing for years.

Noticeable and Substantial Improvement

Over the years, I have used digestive enzymes without really noticing much of an improvement in my digestion. NOW Betaine HCI is the only digestive supplement that I've ever tried that works for me.

Shouldn't have "Fixed" what wasn't broken.

Not the same as it once was. Used to be made in a non vegetarian way and they actually worked. Will find another digestive enzyme.

Great for after prolonged fasting.

A few times a year I fast for about 3 days. When I would break my fast and have type of food, even some broth or something light I would get really bloated and nauseous. When you fast your stomach doesn’t produce as much acid and it can be hard to digest food. Now I just have a betaine HCI and I don’t get an upset stomach.

Really really works!!

I am so glad I tried this brand.... I had been using the Swanson’s HCL which was okay, but not quite powerful enough for my needs~ this Now brand however is some strong stuff!!! It works great, and I use the Swanson HCL when I need just a *little* bit more betaine/ hydrochloric acid, but don’t want to take 2 of the Now’s, as that would be too much.... feeling better than I have in ages!!!! So much ENERGY!

Smells & Tastes Terrible

These capsules smell like cat urine and taste the same. It is one of the worst products I have ever used, and I am a frequent supplement buyer. I generally like Now products, but this one is so bad that I have to return it.

Superior product

For several years I took this supplement in tablet form from a different vitamin company and recently switched to this capsule form from NOW Vitamins. I find the capsule form much more reliable and fast-acting -- and I'm a big fan of NOW Vitamins.

Works

I use for age related decline in stomach acid. 3 with a large meal create a warm glow in the stomach and better digestion of nutrients. Dose depends on need.

Great pre-meal enzyme

I take this anytime I plan to have a protein laden meal-- as I don't handle digesting protein very well. No after meal discomfort when I do.
