Q: The halo bassinet mattress seems very thin and hard. I put the sheet on and it seems to fit just right. My question is, if I purchase the extra pad, is there enough room to for the fitted sheet too?

  • A: The mattress pad just barely could fit over the Bassinest padded sheet that is sold with the unit. We stuffed in it there, but then it wouldn't lay flat. We even tried to put the pretty pin dot sheet mattress on it. Believe me - we wanted it to work. There's just not even room for all of that. We ended up returning the mattress pad, and just purchased plenty of the white sheets with grey pin dots. They fit very well together.

  • A: No, it is NOT 1 1/2 inches thick.... not even close. And it very strong, and certainly no breathable. The breathable mattress pad we purchased for our larger actual crib IS breathable. And this quilted pad is not large enough to put the standard padded crib sheet that came with out Bassinest. So we're keeping the standard one that came with it, and the pin dot sheets. If we feel we need a mattress protector later, well.... I can sew. I'd take the great quality full CRIP size protector, make a pattern, and actually make a mattress that would fit. That won't work for everybody, but I took Tailoring in College. Note: I'm not saying it's poor quality. But it's not manufactured in a way that you could use it. I'm sure Halo will invent something soon.

Do not waste your money.

Does not fit the mattress of the halo bassinet that we have. Was too small and doesn’t fit with another sheet on top. Does not wash well. Tiny balls everywhere looks awful after one wash.

SCAMMMM!

LOL!!! Target lost my business today for having a $30 minimum purchase for available shipping. Target - I found the same mattress on Amazon for 2 covers for $17.99. This is why corporate companies like you suck! Trying to force me to pay $30 & I found double the product for cheaper.

AWFUL

Listen to the negative reviews! I didn’t. I bought this product, and now I regret wasting my money. Wanting the best for my baby, I bought the Halo brand fitted sheets and mattress pad as recommended with the bassinet. The pad is too big for the mattress and fitted sheet, resulting in a bulky scrunched up mess. I don’t trust that it is safe for my baby.

NOT waterproof

I got excited to be able to protect the tiny mattress in my Halo Bassinet but this pad doesn’t fit well, it bunches under a sheet and is such a struggle to get straightened out I just give up. The main problem is that it is NOT waterproof. The spit up soaks right through it, it does NOT stop any moisture. Waste of $z

Not worth it

I am usually a big fan of mattress protectors so I registered for this without really thinking about it. I should have read the reviews first. The cover does "fit", and I could manage to get the sheet on and straighten out the bunching, but it is just way too much hassle. The big thing for me is the "mattress" we are trying to protect is only about 1 inch thick and is already a waterproof wipeable surface. If I have to clean up an accident, I'm going to change the sheet and wipe the mattress clean before putting on the new one. It is way easier than changing a protector and a sheet. I don't see the point of this product.

Do not purchase

This does not fit the halo bassinet mattress properly. It is an entire inch too long for the mattress. I didn’t realize until I put it on and then tried to put the sheet over it, as once you put the sheet over, it bunches up and won’t lay flat. The sheet appears to be made to fit the mattress properly while this pad does not. Due to the excess of material, I didn’t feel trust using it for my infant. I returned and got a new one in case the first I received was the issue, but nope, the replacement had the same problem. Don’t waste your time trying it.

Agree with others--doesn't fit

Wish I had listened to the reviews. While it appears to fit the mattress, after a sheet is on the mattress as well, it's way lumpy and super hard to straighten out. Everything just doesn't quite fit right together and this cover being too big seems to be the culprit.

Does not fit properly!

As others have said, it doesn’t fit the mattress properly. It’s slightly too big, so when the fitted sheet is placed on top, it all feels too loose and lumpy. I do not feel comfortable having baby sleep on it. Sadly I can’t return because I already washed it, but if I could return it I would.
