A: This model weighs 13.5 lbs which feels like a good weight vacuum as it is a sturdy enough to get the job done. I have a new shark cordless stick vacuum which weighs 6 lbs (and feels almost like a Swiffer spray mop but more top heavier and I am having a hard time to get used to it but when I thought about it if you get one that has light weight feature they have to take out the weight somewhere so they must have to reduce the casing and keep the parts that make it do its job so I am starting to get used to it.

A: Mine doesn't tilt back freely. I have to place my foot on the vacuum and pull the handle back. It's annoying but from sharks answer, it looks like that's how it's supposed to work.

Place your foot firmly on the floor nozzle while gently pulling back on the handle. If it still won’t tilt, check for obstructions in the tilt mechanism or swivel joint. If the issue persists, contact Shark customer support at 1-800-365-0135 for further assistance.

Q: Is this vacuum self-propelled?

A: No it is not self-propelled but when I read the reviews a lot of people feel that it is very easy to push and once you get started it just flows. A lot of people also said it didn't hurt their backs when they use it (which is one of my requirements as I haven't been able to vacuum at all without my back putting me down for a few days) and I feel comfortable getting one.

It is larger in diameter and the actual brush parts are made to not keep the hair on it. I was surprised to see all of the hair in the dirt container and 2 hairs on the roll but laying sideways and would have gone right to canister if I had kept on vacuuming. I can't say I am thrilled at with the one just bought but every time I use it I like it more and has great battery time but I have but I have only heard good things about this one so I may return and get this one.

Breaks after a few months
This vacuum seems amazing at first. 5 months in I noticed that the tubes started cracking and breaking. I tried to glue them as best as possible to avoid getting a new vacuum and it snapped in multiple areas which no longer allowed it to work like a proper vacuum. Very much don't recommend

I love this shark navigator vacumm
I have tried so many vacuums and this shark navigator is by far the best! I love the Led lights and you can see every dust particles on the floor. I have paid so much more for other vacums but this is the best vacumming and worth every penny. Great if you have pets.

Was great until it wasnt
Worked great for literally 6 months. Then something got caught in the roller and now it won’t run. You can’t take it apart either to clean it out or replace the roller, I tried. Would not recommend at all.

Sucks Up Everything… Without Sucking to Use
Alright, this Shark Navigator Lift-Away ADV is the kind of vacuum that makes you want to clean just to use it. First off, the suction is no joke, it picks up crumbs, pet hair, and that mysterious “dust glitter” that somehow lives in corners. The PowerFins actually grab debris instead of just pushing it around, and the self-cleaning brushroll means I’m not spending my Saturday untangling hair from the roller. The “Lift-Away” feature is genius, you pop the canister off and suddenly you can reach stairs, under furniture, and all those awkward spots you usually pretend don’t exist. It’s not too heavy, and it swivels nicely so it doesn’t feel like you’re wrestling with a shopping cart. Honestly, it’s one of those rare appliances that makes the chore feel a little less like… a chore. If you want a vacuum that’s powerful, easy to handle, and doesn’t gag on pet hair, this one’s a win.

Burnt motor after a few months.
Worked very well at first but the motor burnt out in only 4 months of use. We have dogs and I lightly vacuum every couple days but it shouldn’t have broke this early on. Very disappointing considering I paid full price and not on sale. And just missed the return window by a month.

Won't last
This product is junk. I bought it in 2021 and by 2024 the brush head stopped working. I went through a warranty claim and had to PAY for them to send me a replacement head. Now a year later it’s broken again. I’m switching to a new brand, will never trust a shark vacuum again.

Save your money!!!
I would give negative stars if I could. I bought this November 2024 and the suction stopped yesterday. I took it to a repair shop and turned it on for them and they told me that the motor that controls the spinner is already gone. I call Shark and explain everything to the rep, get a ticket number and go through the troubleshooting steps given to me. I was directed to call back. My fiancé calls this time and gives the ticket number assuming everything would populate. Nope. Had to take 5 minutes and give all info again. We finally get to tell the new rep the issue and she spends the entire time talking down to us and having an attitude. Something this expensive should last longer than 6 months. This is the first and last Shark product that I will ever own. Save your money.

SO HEAVY. HAIR GETS STUCK.
I just got this today and while I do love how much hair it picks up, it gets clogged to a certain extent where you have to let it all out (halfway point of the holder), and at the bottom, you have to pull out a lot of hair if you have pets that shed a lot because it all gets stuck. I also have to say I have never picked up such a heavy vacuum in my life. It has to be at least 30 pounds! I was dripping in sweat after vacuuming 650 square feet.

Annoying! Keeps coming apart when being used.
You have to step on the vacuum head to tilt the vacuum down from the upright position. When I do this, the vacuum separates and comes out of the head.

Best vacuum I've owned!
I was using a dyson for years before I bought this shark. From the first second I switched this one on, I was SHOCKED at how much dirt and cat hair it pulled out of our carpet before I even had a chance to move it around the room. It was kind of horrifying to see how much was in our carpets, but SO satisfying to see all the dirt, dust, and cat hair fill the bagless chamber. The suction power is INSANE. The liftaway feature is helpful for vacuuming hard to reach places like behind our bed. The debris canister is easy to remove and empty. I have no complaints!
