My favorite foundation
I love this foundation. I am 55 and it doesn't settle in my fine lines. I recommend using a good quality foundation brush as it works better either this foundation. I hope they come out with more shades. I am light cool but the light is a little to light so I am going to try the light medium. This last all day for me. I am impressed by it. Doesn't feel heavy on my skin and last all day.

Easy to use with great results
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m really enjoying the Simply Ageless Skin Perfecter Essence. This is simple to apply, I use it after my sunscreen, and it blends into the skin really easily with a shade forgivable formula, it’s really just a light tint more than anything else Just enough to give that no makeup, makeup look. It helps even out skin tone and just give a little radiance to the skin. You could wear it as a primer under a foundation as well, but I prefer it on its own. This has a hydrating benefit and also has 0.5% bakuchiol and Tranexamic Acid, so you’re getting a little skincare benefit as well. Overall I really enjoy this on days I’m not looking to do my makeup, I can apply this, a lip gloss and maybe some mascara and feel a bit more pulled together. There are 11 shades, I went with medium tan, which is better for me as we get into the summer, but I can still use now because it is such a light tint. Only thing I would ask for is some more cooler shades, which is always a struggle to find. lol.

My new middle-age HG foundation
As my skin ages it’s really difficult to find a foundation that doesn’t look cakey, dry my skin out or accent the texture/fine lines. All of my longtime holy grails (Dior Face & Body, Il Makiage) suddenly just look so cakey and fake. I tried Cover Girl’s Simply Ageless line starting with the cream foundation (meh) and then the 3-in-1 liquid foundation (better than the cream, but not life-changing) then I tried the Essence skin tint after seeing all the hype on social media - well the hype is completely justified. It’s truly a wonderful foundation for us middle-aged ladies. It’s not cakey, doesn’t settle into lines, and the satin finish doesn’t accent texture at all - it leaves my skin looking plump and hydrated. No other foundation has been able to do this for me at this stage of my life. Now, this is a skin tint; it is buildable, but I only use a very sheer layer so I can’t tell you if it covers things like blemishes or scars. It evens out my skin tone perfectly and does partially cover melasma patches. I usually wear ‘Classic Ivory’ in drugstore foundations and my skin tone is a light neutral, but here I had to go a shade deeper. Light looked like a mask on me, and Light-Medium ended up being my Goldilocks match. So try a shade deeper if you don’t like what you initially picked out. I apply a small amount with my fingers first, then I work it in with my Rare Beauty foundation brush. But you don’t absolutely need a brush, you could just use your fingers and be fine. One area of improvement - I wish they would remove the Bakuchiol from the formula. I use Tretinoin every night, and the Bakuchiol tends to somewhat irritate my skin as it doesn’t play with tret very well; I’ve had to scale back on the tret to accommodate this foundation but I’m really hoping they’ll take it out, no one in my age group is depending on a useless amount of Bakuchiol in a foundation to be their main skincare. I’m very surprised they thought it was a good idea to have that in their formula. I know Chanel makes a similar foundation hence all the hype around this one, but I don’t want to pay $75 for an ounce when the Cover Girl Essence already looks amazing on my skin. So Cover Girl, please replace the Bakuchiol with something useful like smoothing peptides. That would make it perfect!

Sings my sensitive skin
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This honestly performs nicely looks good on and has more coverage than similar products like chanel les beige. After wearing to a baseball game on a hot day I can also safely say it lasts nicely. I apply by mixing the pigment blobs into the rest on the back of my hand and then using a brush or sponge off my hand, My main issue is that this stings my skin. I have mildly sensitive skin with some skin barrier damage issues and i’m assuming that some ingredient in this is just an irritant for me. For me that just makes it not worth using considering the other options out there by it’s a perfectly nice foundation.

8.5 Hours, No Powder, and a Hot Day — Wear Test Approved
Wore this from 2 PM to 10:30 PM with no setting powder while cleaning all day in warm weather and definitely worked up a sweat. The foundation held up surprisingly well and still looked natural by the end of the day. Needless to say, I’m pleasantly surprised. I originally purchased shade 25 Light Neutral (pictured in the white shirt). It was a decent match for my face, but it didn’t match the rest of my body. I later picked up shade 40 Medium (pictured in the green shirt), and it’s a perfect match for both my face and body. Now I use shade 25 under my eyes and in the center of my face for a little brightness. I’ve seen a lot of people recommend applying this with a brush, but I actually prefer using my fingertips. I blend it on the back of my hand and then apply it to my face with tapping motions in small sections. I don’t rub it all over my skin at once. For me, that gives the most natural “your skin but better” finish. Ironically, the photos in this review were taken on a day when I applied it with a brush, and I feel like the brush emphasized my skin texture a little more. I normally use a light dusting of powder under my eyes, around my nose, and through my T-zone, but for this wear test I skipped powder completely. Even so, the finish stayed natural and comfortable throughout the day. I wasn’t planning on writing a review, but after wearing it a few times, I can confidently say this foundation has earned a permanent spot in my routine. I should also mention that I have combo skin on my best days, but most of the time my skin leans dry. Finding an everyday foundation that I can wear comfortably is something I never thought I’d come across, let alone write a review about. That alone says a lot.

Light weight

It feels lightweight on my skin, blends easily, and gives just enough coverage to even things out without looking like I'm wearing a full face of foundation. The finish looks natural and fresh, and I like that it doesn't feel heavy throughout the day. The bottle needs a good shake before using since the formula separates, but once mixed, it applies smoothly.
