Q: I love that it’s black to protect from light but am concerned about air getting through- can anyone vouch if this is airtight?

A: I have one and am using it. The sealing ring is very good. The coffee seems to be very fresh and strong. It’s really a great looking functional piece.

Broken mess
I think the canister has a sleek modern design and can blend nicely with many types of decor. The tiny sheep logo and attached measuring scoop are cool little add ons and give it character. The only reason why I dinged the two stars are because Target can’t seem to figure out a way to ship out items in a proper manner. My first one showed up completely broken. Had it been properly packaged and broken I’d understand but the canister had nothing more than a thin paper wrapped around it. As soon as I cut the tape on the wrap I had ceramic shreds all over my lap and the carpet. As if that wasn’t enough of a bad experience I reached out to Target.com and provided pictures and they wanted me to mail it back. I was able to call and explain to a real person that I wasn’t going to send back bunch of broken ceramic that could potentially cut someone in their warehouse. They reviewed everything and made it right by replacing it but it was more work than it should have been to get a canister.

Nice & heavy duty
Really pleased with the heavy duty quality of this canister. It has a nice charcoal-black color that has a sandy texture. The scoop spoon is a good quality stainless steel - not flimsy. The only minor issue is that the sandy texture scratched up the back of the scoop spoon where it rests on the canister - I think this happened during shipping. I love this piece and would order more!

This is a very nice coffee canister. It has a good sealing ring in the cover which seems to be keeping the coffee fresh and strong. The cost is quite reasonable. When I saw it as a special Woolrich promotion, I knew it would be perfect next to my coffee pot. And I’m not disappointed.
