Tom’s of Maine Whiten Plus Coconut Oil Fluoride Free Toothpaste - Gentle Mint - 4.0oz

I bought this because it said "gentle mint" and I thought it would be good for sensitive gums. It is the opposite, unfortunately. Something in it burns my gums and tongue so much that I cannot use it. Possibly it's the whitening product.

I have had a bunch of work done on my teeth over the years so I make a point to take good care of them now. I am a bit picky on my dental products. First, they have to be from a quality and reputable brand. Second, the flavor has to be not too bitey of a mint. Third, they have to leave my teeth feeling clean and fresh. This toothpaste does all of those things. It is the whitening formula, I have been using it about a month and think it shines them up nicely but I haven’t noticed any long term whitening effects. I like the taste and feeling of the product and like that there are nice fluoride options available. I get enough from my mouthwash and often like options to use without during the day.

I’ve been using it for two weeks, but there hasn’t been any noticeable improvement in whiteness. My teeth feel gritty after using it (like I didn’t brush my teeth at all!) and it doesn’t freshen my breath. Also, Tom’s promises it is both Kosher and Halal. While it is theoretically possible, it is not realistically achievable due to religious guidelines from both sides.

It's got a smooth consistency that doesn't appear to have any coloring (just a slightly transparent, milky color). I have used other fluoride free toothpastes and this one holds up to some that ate much more expensive. I like the minty flavor and my mouth/teeth felt clean after using. I'm not sure it did anything for whitening though. I would definitely consider buying once this runs out.
