Better usage instructions

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there wasn’t any instructions on how to use the defrost. Had to figure that out on our own. We are seniors and needed better details on instructions. The appliance works great.

Poor light
I just installed the microwave and it was pretty straightforward, as expected. Im writing this review before using the oven with the exception of heating up a cup of coffee. The reason for a 2 star review is the light that shines down onto the oven is a joke. It's located in the center-rear of the microwave so it only lights up the very back of the oven below. Coupled with the fact the light isnt bright at all, despite having 2 brightness settings. Which I would consider dim and dimmer. I looked at the bulb in hopes of replacing it with perhaps a LED or anything brighter. But the bulb looks like one used in the tail light of my pickup truck. A little more thought should have been used in the bulb placement by simply tilting it forward towards the burners. For most homes an under the range microwave light is the main light used for the stovetop. Come on Amana, you can do better.

However, I would suggest a couple of improvements which would even make it better. 1) convert lights to a bride white LED, 2) backlight the buttons you push as they are hard to see in a dim room. Overall a plus appliance.

Sleek looking very nice microwave for the money!

The only thing I would let people know is that the range light is not very bright. I just purchased a magnetic led light to get some extra light. Problem solved.

Disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very disappointed. I really want to start to support American made products, but it's a little hard when the quality is not up to par. Brand new over the range microwave. I was utilizing the Fan, it was stuck on speed 2. I couldn't utilize speed one. I spent a lot of money to have it installed and now it doesn't work properly. I had to unplug to get the thing to turn off.
