GE JVM3160RFSS 1.6 Cu. Ft. Stainless Over-the-Range Microwave

Although no convection oven it has all the other features, works great, looks great and is a perfect fit over my oven, and is 1/3 the price. Easy to install, comes with everything needed. Could not be happier with my purchase!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were replacing an existing over the range microwave and ended up very lucky. The size and bracket were the same as our old Frigidaire microwave so it was easy to drop in and go. The controls and features are just what you expect on any microwave and the capacity easily fits my corningware dishes. Lastly the hood/ventilation is strong and quiet. I was surprised at how much more output this unit had above my old unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This basic above-the-stove microwave is an "affordable" model, and it shows. The control panel is gray-on-black and difficult to read. A single light shines dimly on the stovetop below. It does a good job of the basic function of heating food and liquids at full power. I still haven't mastered all its peripheral functions despite studying the user manual I downloaded (disclosure: I'm age 90).

Very similar to our previous microwave, although a couple functions are different. Don't particularly like the way reheat function works. Installation fine, but seems to interfere a bit with closing cabinet above. No programmable night light. Otherwise seems just fine. Capacity seems a little better than our last one because rotating disc is larger.

This product is not reliable. This is the second microwave to fail in less than 3 years time. Horrible quality and I am stuck buying another one to fit into the space where this one sits. Don't buy if you can avoid GE. The refigerator, range, and dishwasher have also failed and the products were only 5 years old.

The microwave is terrific. We've used it every day and are really happy with it.

Self installation instructions were clear and easy to follow and the end result was satisfying in every way. Thanks for great design and performance.

This microwave does not compare to the previous one I had. I don't understand why you can't place the electric cord in the same place for a newer model. This one required drilling a new hole in the cupboard above the appliance. They also needed to drill new holes for the screws/bolts that hold it in place. Now that cabinet has several open holes in the bottom. I also don't like that the vent flows upward against the surface of the cabinets, which will likely damage the surface eventually. The reheat feature is not convenient. My old microwave automatically knew how long to cook something by just pushing the button. This one just selects the number of minutes, which I could do on the key pad if I knew how long to cook it. The little device under the plate is flimsy and doesn't stay in place. Overall, I am quite disappointed with this appliance.

Overall very nice MW. Easy to install. This is our 2nd one as the first lasted 9years and then just stopped working.

Of course, this was after warranty, but I was shocked that it stopped working after only using it a few times. I had an electrician come to verify whether or not the electric was to blame but he said there was electricity so the problem had to be with the microwave itself! I will NEVER buy anything built by GE ever again!!!
