do NOT waste your money and be unsecure.
i didn't realize this until i came back to write a review that most of the reviews are incentivised. so basically they are fake. i would never use this company again. i got the doorbell because i live in nyc and someone has been stealing packages from in front of my apartment door. multiple time the camera just didn't record. 3 of those time happened to be when packages were taken. when complaining to arlo's customer service they offered to give me 30% off next years subscription. oh yes please sign me up. can you image if we had a serious emergency, like a robbery, or a home invasion? we would have no footage but at least i got 30% off. right? so if you value your safety or you just want something you pay for to work, this is not the camera for you.

Overall, would not recommend. Heres why:
Had this for over a year. Easy install, camera quality great. Functionality bad. The motion detection picks up objects/people way too late. It takes a long time for the doorbell to actually reach your device to answer, and don’t even get me started on the fact that you can NEVER view the live camera. I’ve talked with customer service many times about it and there’s just nothing to do. They tried sending a new doorbell device (no new battery with it), and we had to use our previous battery and the problem still continues. Don’t waste your money. It’s not reliable.

Good Camera but..
At first glance, these cameras seem promising, but don't be fooled by their functionality. The real nightmare begins when you encounter their subscription and abysmal customer service. During the activation process, I was charged twice for my subscription, a mistake that should have been rectified swiftly. However, attempting to reach out to their customer support was an exercise in futility. The only available communication channel is through their app, where I received a robotic response stating, "After reviewing your account, it appears that you are not entitled to live agent support." Days passed, and my money remained in limbo, with no resolution in sight. The lack of accountability and responsiveness from their support team is utterly disappointing. Save yourself the headache and avoid these cameras altogether. No matter how well they function, the absence of reliable customer support renders them unfit for anyone seeking peace of mind. Don't make the same mistake I did. Choose a brand that values its customers and stands behind its products.

No Go with Google Fiber
Easy to install, but unfortunately can’t connect to Google Fiber. I wasn’t able get support from customer service because I didn’t finalize the Arlo registration. I would have finalized it IF it worked with fiber and it would have never been a problem…

Functional, but lacks a VERY basic motion feature that ruins the experience
So, this doorbell camera somehow earned an editors choice award over at CNet. This is incredibly SHOCKING to me since this device lacks a very simple and *common sense* feature: The ability to change its notifications to something other than the default sound. If you're like most people, your doorbell is your sentry for when you aren't home. If you're like me, you assign different sounds for different events in different apps. With my prior Ring camera, motion alerts were configurable to a variation of sounds included within the app. The Arlo software lacks this VERY BASIC functionality. This is very surprising to me because the Arlo is smart enough to differentiate between Animals, People, Cars, etc - but for some ridiculous reason the Arlo team can't figure out how to assign a different sound to these events. The Doorbell chime sound also defaults to the standard "Ring" sound, but thankfully this action inserts a standard call into your call log in the form of a contact. If you change the ringtone for this contact, you can at least differentiate the doorbell sound from everything else. But for those of you looking to have motion alerts that have a sound that's different from everything else, you are out of luck. While the Arlo team might hop on here to say that they'll pass this idea along to the software team for a future feature, the forums are already LOADED with unhappy people wondering why it's taking years for them to figure out how to do it. It looks like this thing is getting returned. Even the cheapest Ring doorbell includes this functionality, and i'm surprised the team at CNET missed this. This makes me very distrustful of CNET in general now.

I liked this until I realized it wasn't recording at night all the time. I'm talking about when someone comes to my door. Many complaints about this on Arlo's message boards with no fix in sight.

This provides the best opportunity to capture motion detection events and video clips that include a person approaching the door. You can use the included angled mounting wedge to optimize the angle of your wire-free Arlo Essential Video Doorbell. WiFi connectivity best practices When placing your wire-free Arlo Essential Video Doorbell: Make sure your doorbell is within the range of your WiFi router. For more information, contact your router manufacturer or Internet service provider (ISP). Note: Your WiFi router’s range is reduced by each wall, ceiling, or other major obstruction between the WiFi router and your camera. Make sure your doorbell is at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from your WiFi router and at least 6.5 feet (2 meters) away from other Arlo devices. Make sure that your home WiFi and mobile device meet Arlo’s minimum requirements. The picture is crystal clear and it notifies me every time someone is near my door which I love because we live in the country lol and my kids freak out a lot when I’m not home before them. Great front door surveillance.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the this doorbell camera and the easy it is to use. The installation was really easy by following the instructions provided. The setup on the app is also really easy to do. I like the wide angle option when I want to use this. I am now able to see when packages are left and I can even talk to the delivery person. The picture is really good even at night. I can't believe I didn't get one much earlier, I now can't do without this camera watching my front door.
