A: Not if you "scrunch out the crunch." If you apply a lot and then don't scrunch your hair, yes, it'll be crispy/hard, because it's high-hold gel.

Love it for kids or baby hair. If you are looking for extreme hold this is not it but for a soft hold yes. I use this on my daughter’s hair and it holds well but easily after some hours her baby hairs start to fall out. I’ve used it on my son as well and it holds a bit and about two hours later the hold stops but keeps the hair mold to the style that it was just it’s easy to dissolve. It doesn’t leave any flakes or residue and smells great! But if you’re looking for that good super hold that hardens to stay in place this is not it. I do love it for little ones hair which I’ll keep repurchasing for that reason.

It is no exaggeration to say that this gel is the worst I've ever used. I can put in as much as I want and the most I can possibly get from it is disgusting, sticky hair with somehow ZERO hold. It is better to use no gel at all than it is to use this one.

Please bring back the old formula!! I used the old formula for years on my curly hair and it was the only affordable gel that works for me!! Unfortunately, the new formula doesn’t work like the old one and I had to stop using it after many years! Please bring the old stuff back!!!

The old instant freeze formula was the first gel I used on my curly hair journey and it was the BEST hair gel I’ve ever used. It was the perfect balance of moisture and hold, and it didn’t make my blonde hair look darker, which a lot of curly hair products do. It was part of my hair routine since 2018 it was that good! Since Aussie changed their formula for the gel, I only had to use it once to notice that the new formula was not as good. My hair was dryer, duller, and the gel had less hold. I don’t recommend the new formula at all. Aussie, you had the perfect gel formula, please bring it back!

Several people here say they get white and flaky pieces in their hair- this gel does not do that! I use quite a bit and have never had that problem. If your hair is soaking wet and you apply the gel, it might look like there’s a little soap or foam on your strands but that doesn’t show up on the finished style You must use a clarifying shampoo at least once a month to get rid of any product buildup on your scalp and hair. It’s possible that the people saying this have very dry hair or don’t wash their hair much???

I have been using this for the past few weeks and have never got so many compliments on my curls - I am 66 years young! My curls look fabulous ( have to agree) and I would not change this for anything. Used Aussie when I was in my 20's and always loved it, however over the past few decades I have relied and SPENT more on different products. Who knew I would be coming back to Aussie and leaving this comment!!! Please do not stop making this product!!!

I have purchased several expensive curl gels and mousses in the past, but this one is the best by far! I have fine curly hair, and after I wash and condition it, I leave my hair soaking wet, then I scrunch just my hands in my hair to get rid of excess water, NO Towel!!. I appy about a tablespoom (my hair is to my chin) and work it through, then comb through with a wide tooth comb, then use my curl brush to brush through sections. I let it air dry or use a diffuser. Once it's dried completely, I run my hands through it gently to break up some of the curl. I'm left with soft ringlets. Love it!!

This hair gel did not work to hold my waves. I had high hopes seeing this product highly rated by an influencer with my similar hair type. It was watery and sticky when applying to my hair. It didn’t create a strong cast as I hoped to maintain my waves.

If you guys care at all about your customer base please bring back the old formula this one is horrible. as a loyal customer of yours i feel very badly about being forced to never purchase this gel again. I really think the old formulation was the best in the market, this one is horrible. I don’t understand why everyone is saying change it and nothing is being done. Never purchasing again.

Defined my curls really well and left them nice and soft and shiny (but not greasy). Also didn't dry out my hair or leave any residue. I was also able to easily scrunch to remove the cast. To top it off, the price is very reasonable. Love it for my winter hair. Btw I used it with the Aussie miracle shampoo and conditioner.

I have used Aussie since I was 17 . Shampoo and three minute miracle. I have used the instant freeze gel for almost as long. I’ve used some type of Aussie Gel for my hair and was a huge fan. Not a big fan of the new formula. Just not the same and my hair doesn’t react the same to the new formula. Bring back the old formula. I don’t mind paying a little more if it’s that much better!!
