A flaky scalp may not always be dandruff as well. Flaking could be residue from a build-up of hairsprays or other grooming products. If you have a dry, itchy, flaking scalp that isn't improving after using an anti-dandruff shampoo/conditioner for 6 weeks, you should speak to your doctor. Also, hair being dry is usually a sign of it not being conditioned well enough. If you haven't already, we recommend pairing the product with a rich conditioner. What you've described is not something we would expect. We would recommend washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove excess product and dirt/grease. Also, to prevent it from happening again, I would recommend rinsing your hair thoroughly so that all shampoo, conditioner products are not left in, which can cause hair to be greasy or sticky feeling.
