Q: How does the steam come out? Do I have to pump the handle or press down to make it steam?
A: Hi Trish - no pumping or pressing required. After the mop has been plugged in for 30 seconds you press the button on the front to make it steam. you can get light, medium or heavy steaming depending on how many times you press the button. It makes mopping easy!
submitted byCarol - 7 years agoA: There's a button you press on the front to make it steam.
submitted byLauren - 7 years agoA: Good question, Trish - the steam comes out automatically, depending on the amount of steam selected. There's no trigger or pump that needs to be pressed.

Q: Can this be used on Vinyl floors
A: Before recently installing our vinyl flooring, I checked with the sales person and asked if I could use my steam mop on it. I had read that it was not recommended. The sales person at the store told me it was ok to use a steam mop. I was a little reluctant, but decided to go ahead and use it. My vinyl is glued down and so far I've had no problems using the mop on it. Hopefully, over time, it is still going to be ok. I don't know if it depends on the brand or not. Mine is Tarkett.
submitted byVBfan - 8 years agoA: That's a great question, Shadowwtcr - we do not recommend using steam on vinyl. Check out our BISSELL CrossWave which will work really well on your floors: http://www.target.com/p/bissell-174-crosswave-153-all-in-one-multi-surface-cleaner-white-chacha-lime-1785/-/A-51198563
submitted byAskBISSELL - 8 years agoBrand expertA: I'm a professional handyman of 36 years, regardless of others who 'think' their professionals Tarkett is best there is when comes to flooring. Awe yea big box stores will claim other brands, but ask them to get you Tarkett, and you'll find out they cannot. Is because they have contract with other brands? No, they don't meet Tarkett standards. Reason most DIY and some contractors get frustrated installing and maintenance is they're not diligent in what their doing, and they don't take the time read mfg. specs. Tarkett "cannot" be installed without use of Tarkett mfg. tools, simply as that, no way around it, the least little speck of debris the track (groove) then you've done messed up. Another tip Linoleum (Lino) is a "type" of floor covering, not brand named. Linoleum and vinyl "are not" the same. It isn't the steam that damages the covering, its the type of adhesive used to apply the covering. Best method is like cleaning carpet test a inconspicuous spot first not all floors are applied the same; and, never every use butyl on any floor where pets eat, sleep, or children play. Final those working in stores usually are not pros, some are very informed of "their employers" products, but like said if you want your answer test it first or ask a qualified professional tradesman who has actual installed several types of flooring.

Q: Can I use this on a laminate floor ( not a wood one). Thank you
A: I read it should be at the lowest setting: "Steam mops use a significant amount of water and heat while cleaning, and should, therefore, be used carefully. By using the right technique, you can effectively clean and sanitize your laminate flooring. Experts advise that you follow the natural grain of the floor. Going against it can cause moisture to penetrate the tiny cracks and crevices and cause damage (1). If your steam mop isn’t specifically made for laminate, choose a low setting to avoid excessive heat. Test First Before steam mopping your entire floor, give the mop a test in a small corner to make sure it won’t do any harm. Check the floor after a few strokes to make sure water is at a minimum. If you do notice standing water, wipe it off using a clean cloth or towel. It’s also important that you don’t make steam cleaning a part of your everyday cleaning regime. The hot steam can weaken the seal on your laminate floor. Some floor manufacturers will even void warranties if cleaned with steam (2)." (Excerpt taken from ohsospotless.com)

Q: Can anyone tell me how hot the steam is on these??? Reason being I have a medical issue that the more sterile things are kept the better off I feel.
A: The machine heats the water to a steam state so very hot. The floor dries very quickly. Comes with two washable covers. It also has three steam settings
submitted byAnonymous - 7 years agoA: Hi Chris. This machine is designed to sanitize floors with the natural power of steam. It reaches 212 degrees Fahrenheit to product steam. Hope this helps!

Q: Can you use tap water with this cleaner?
A: Good question, Jan - we recommend using distilled water with this steam mop.
submitted byAskBISSELL - 8 years agoBrand expertA: I follow the recommendation and use distilled water in mine. I'm assuming using tap water would eventually cause problems and I don't want to take the chance. Distilled water is cheap enough, it's not a problem.
