A: For best results, when baking or cooking, always preheat the oven for at least 10 minutes at the desired temperature setting.

At first I thought this was an overly friendly & inappropriate way to address a potential customer . . . but then I found out that their user name is "love paris".
submitted byHASH - 5 years agoA: Thank you for your question, love. The toaster oven does not feature an audible signal for when the toaster oven has reached the desired temperature. We advise allowing five minutes for the toaster oven to preheat.
submitted byBlackAndDeckerSupport - 7 years agoBrand expertA: Internal heating element glows red and cycles on and off as the oven heats. One can see the element glow through the oven window. After a period of perhaps 5-10 minutes, the heating element glow will stop cycling on and off as steady-state temperature is reached. This is the time to slide in the tray with food. A conventional oven has an "oven" indicator light that will shut off once the set temperature is reached. The toaster oven does NOT have a such an indicator light. So it is a bit of a judgment call to decide when the oven has reached its set point.

A: I just purchased this toaster oven and it's ALL painted gray NOT stainless steel! It only has stainless steel accents on the knobs and on the handle of the glass door.

A: Thank you for your question. All of our current toaster oven models have a zinc coated interior. Zinc coating is durable and contributes to heat and IR energy distribution. Non-stick coating was replaced with zinc coating for most of our models in the later part of 2011.

I had this toaster for some years now. You get used how to use the toaster or oven, depending on what you’re cooking. But what I noticed about this toaster/oven is that it begins to catch on fire when there is oil on your food. For example, I marinated veggies in oil and seasoning and noticed a flare inside the oven..The same when I added oil to my fish, now I use butter instead . Also I’m scared to use this grill ,and always keep an eye on the food.

I bought this toaster oven in April 2024. It is used only for toasting English muffins, bagels, sourdough bread. I follow the instructions to turn dial past the mark then to the desired toast darkness. I always use light toast. I always clean the inside to be sure no crumbs are touching the heating element. I have had several occaisions with my toast burning. Today was the last straw. The glass window filled up with condensation and smoke started appearing. I was standing right there so was able to catch it before it ignited. Is it too late to return the unit for malfunction? It's barely 5 months old. Frustrated with Black and Decker toaster oven and can not recommend.

Leaves marks on bread, so that part isn’t toasted. There are no instructions included, I had to look at pics on box to see what trays to use, and those pics weren’t clear. It sat unopened for six months before I opened it, used it one time, and now it’s too late to return. I do not recommend this toaster oven.

I use one of these at my office but it’s a little older and I figured I’d get one for myself. This one heats up extremely hot on the toast setting and lit the waffles my daughter was warming up on fire and almost caused a house fire.

It works well and has a particular way of using, so make sure you read the manual. The oven smokes only when something is touching the glass door. Also, you shouldn't use baking paper in it. Only aluminium foil on the tray. It cooks well and I use it for almost every meal. Fish and chicken and hashbrowns cook well in it.
