A: I have no answer for the question, but (before even reading/seeing the question or who sent it) got a good laugh out of B&D's answer "Thank you for your question, LOVE." At first I thought this was an overly friendly & inappropriate way to address a potential customer . . . but then I found out that their user name is "love paris".

submitted byscubabob33 - 6 years agoA: Internal heating element glows red and cycles on and off as the oven heats. One can see the element glow through the oven window. After a period of perhaps 5-10 minutes, the heating element glow will stop cycling on and off as steady-state temperature is reached. This is the time to slide in the tray with food. A conventional oven has an "oven" indicator light that will shut off once the set temperature is reached. The toaster oven does NOT have a such an indicator light. So it is a bit of a judgment call to decide when the oven has reached its set point.

A: I just purchased this toaster oven and it's ALL painted gray NOT stainless steel! It only has stainless steel accents on the knobs and on the handle of the glass door.

Zinc coating is durable and contributes to heat and IR energy distribution. Non-stick coating was replaced with zinc coating for most of our models in the later part of 2011.

Not recommend purchasing this toaster oven. bagel and the entire unit and glass door became blazing hot. It’s definitely can become a fire hazard. I had it maybe 250° and the entire unit was scorching hot. I was not comfortable having this in home so I returned it.

This is exactly what I want and it fit perfectly in the kitchen. After one week, the heating element stopped working. I had a Black & Decker that was 15 years old and it just broke. we are getting the same quality any more, which is awful. I will be looking for mother brand when I take this back to the store.

I absolutely love this toaster oven .. it’s been around for several decades.. we seem to move every 10 yrs .. so I just give it to my friends !! I Buy a new one for a new home .. but all said and done they continue to work .. never break down or stop working.. I hope they keep Making this oven for decades more .. you don’t need to buy all these combo ovens and deep frying combos . Just stick to the basics that are tried and true ! This toasts, bakes to perfection, reheats perfectly ( better in here then microwave) , broils and doesn’t even heat up The house .. I’m a fan and always will be!

it works great for me! My wife and i used it to reheat some cold pizza... It works. Baking also works! I saw somw reviews about; “it does not back”. Of course it would not if you plan on baking an entire chicken. So yes, it is small, but does the job.

This is a fairly good toaster oven except that the door sometimes open when you do not want it to open. I live alone so it's not a problem for me. I'm concerned about what might happen though in a family with young children.

i wanted this to replace my tiny mini 250 watt from china model, which did not get hot enough to bake ,and was too small, but this one is the same only maybe 1 inch clearance. its fine for RV or small kitchen set up. easy to use. just don't think your going to fit anything except 1 leg of chicken, or few cookies....i am keeping cannot be bothered to return. deceptive size

It works as designed. I am learning that rather than scale down my usual oven recipes I need to actually create recipes specifically for a toaster oven; I tried the scale down method a few times & it just didn't work out well for me. So I look forward to experimenting. But I wanted to get a toaster oven but NOT spend a bunch of $$ on it, so this fit the bill.

This style of toaster is what I grew up with and this is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Runs wayyy too hot. Doesn’t evenly toast bread, bagel bites can be burnt outside but cold inside, and so on. Don’t succumb to the good price. It also is barely big enough for four slices. There’s burn marks around the edges from using it every few days over two weeks just roasting bread. There’s just better options out there.

In March 2020, when the world was right on the verge of turning upside down, my workhorse Black+Decker toaster oven - which I'd had for several years - started smoking. Rather than taking the time to investigate, I immediately bought this product so I didn't get stuck at home with no toast. It turned out that my old toaster oven just had some food on the heating element and kept workhorsing for another 3.5 years. That toaster oven finally went kaput for real (R.I.P.) and I opened up this box, which had been taking up space in my home office. The first thing I noticed is that this product was obviously designed by a disgruntled employee who probably previously worked for a computer company known for slick but impractical designs that is named after a fruit. Which side of the knob is supposed to be the pointer? The side where the indentation doesn't go all the way to the edge, so it sort of looks like an arrow if you squint? Nope. It's the other side. I put in a piece of bread to test the toast function. You have to turn the dial past the number 10, and then turn it the other way to select your toast setting. (Seriously?) I picked medium. The toast burned to a crisp. And WHOA, this machine throws of a LOT of heat. Not great if you live in Arizona and need a side hustle to pay the A/C bill. Anyway, after letting the machine cool down, I crouched down in a deep squat to get exactly eye level with the teeny dots on the toaster done-ness scale and did my next experiement, lining up the dial with the very first (lightest toast) teeny dot. I ended up with verrrry slightly warm bread. For experiment #3, I used the second teeny dot, and ended up with this weird hybrid piece of toast - half of it medium toasted, and the other half completely dark brown. I might have just chalked this up to the machine sitting in my office for so long - but other reviewers have mentioned the same issues, with some experiencing the added bonus of the glass door exploding. So I don't even want to donate this toaster oven - it's going straight into the trash.

The item was damaged on delivery, ot sure if it was the Post Office or before shipping. Dented but still functional. I had a B&D toaster oven w/ air fryer prior and loved it. The air fryer made a mess of the heating elements and upon cleaning them, one broke. I decided to replace it with this one without the fyer. Far less quality which surprised me. B&D seemed like quality product but this unit is not as durable, controls hard to see and not labeled well as to what is on and off.

If I could select zero stars, I would. It does not ding/make a sound when the food is done. It is almost impossible to determine if you’ve turned it all the way up or off. The dial is ineffective. Mostly we just smell our food totally burnt from the next room over and then cook again…or we spot it early and unplug the appliance. If you are looking for ease of cooking, skip this one. If I set something for toast and cooked at a medium and there is ZERO notification that the food has reached toasted or medium well… the appliance is not useful. I don’t sit and stare at my food in an appliance to determine it is done. I use the settings and receive a notification. Also, because things burn so easily, the beautiful glass door is soiled. It’s hard to clean once this happens and it’s also hard to fit the pieces that come with it back in after you remove them. So don’t you dare clean anything after it has held scorched food. I rarely leave reviews, but this appliance takes the cake in terms of fraud.

the QUOTED INTERNAL DIMENSIONS are 10.5" long and 9" deep but the USEFUL DIMENSIONS are 8.25" x 7" - the food must not exceed these latter dimensions (bacon occupies alot of 2-dimensional space.) the B&D is sufficient for one person and one meal. but it broils, toasts and ovens well .. and it will require trial-and-error. the power cord is 22". it cleans quickly with Dawn 4x, soaking a bit, and a nylon brush.
