Bob's Red Mill(R) Yellow Corn Polenta (also known as grits) is a wonderfully easy dish made from coarsely ground bits of degerminated corn. It has long been a traditional staple of both northern Italy and the American South. Traditionally, it is cooked and eaten as hot porridge or cooled until firm and then sliced into rounds. For breakfast, try this polenta served with milk and honey. For lunch or dinner, it's excellent topped with butter, cheese, marinara or gravy. Bob's uses only the finest golden corn for rich and flavorful polenta that is sure to delight your palate any time of day.

    non-organic has chemicals applied?

    Its great that I can buy a product that is so minimally processed and has no added chemical for "enrichment". I did however accidentally buy the non-organic version. So this product must have had some chemical applied to it at some point :( what was it? was it fumigated while being stored? or was the corn sprayed with pesticides before harvest? Where can I find this information for the organic and non-organic versions of the product?

    AKA "Grits"

    I like this product and eat it often. However, as a Southerner, I'm disappointed that the term, "Grits", was removed from the label. Reference to polenta is fine, but I want to psychologically feel that I'm eating grits!

    Creamy & doesn't stick to pan!

    Love this polenta (aka grits). I whisked it most of the time during cooking. I'm not sure if that is what kept it from sticking to the pot as bulk polenta does or if it's the grain. It's lovely and creamy. I most often eat polenta as a breakfast hot cereal (I'm GF) but I'm exicted to try grilling it. One question I have is ... I'm trying to increase my "whole" grain consumption and I see from a prior answer that this is partially degerminated (woot woot...right?. It's my understanding that the degerminating process is what makes polenta be not considered a "whole" grain per se. So, if it's partially degerminated, does that mean it's partially a whole grain? The product has a good amount of fiber. I'm not sure what else I'd be missing from a whole "whole" grain cereal. Thanks

    Polenta - it's not just for Shrimp and Grits anymore

    I spent several years in the South and never could understand grits until I discovered Shrimp and Grits. Recently I discovered Polenta and it has become a regular item in my cooking. I am retired, single, and I love to cook in my InstaPot/AirFryer specializing in easy Manly-Man dishes.

    My favorite

    I have loved yellow corn grits since being introduced back in the 80s. What I like about Bob's Red Mill products is that you can always count on quality products. Buying locally has become a challenge, but getting the product direct allows me to get the larger quanity, assuring longer lasting.

    Best I've had

    I've been eating grits since I was too young to remember. These are the best I've ever come across, with a much fuller flavor than the white grits I've had in the past. I'm spoiled now, and wouldn't think of buying another brand.
