  • A: No visible coil which is much nicer than the old ones.. The heating element is in the detachable base. I don't go by the "cup" markings on the side they are much smaller than a regular cup. It holds 4 8oz cups plus 2 oz so 34oz which is also marked on the side. This is a great kettle and Bodum is a great brand!

  • A: We would not recommend placing the loose leaf tea into the kettle. We recommend placing the loose leafs into a stainless steel infuser and pouring the hot water from the kettle over it in a mug for the best brewing results. Enjoy!

    Bought this for my son and he threw the box away before noticing the inside is plastic. I have a another brand thermos style water kettle at work that is small and stainless steel on the inside so it NEVER occurred to me this would be plastic. It doesn't matter if it's bpa free, you are drinking microplastics. So many glass and stainless options so do not purchase this product.

    Bodum electric water kettle-good at the sale price

    I saw this item at a discount and since I was familiar with Bodum products, I thought I would try it. I do not like how the top lid opens. It flips at the center, which makes adding water clumsy. The lid doesn’t stay open after use to dry out, allowing moisture from accumulating. On the plus side, it is small, lightweight, compact and affordable. It heats up quietly and quickly.

    Not Operational

    Broken upon receiving. Will not stay on to boil water. Checked a few different outlets with same results. Return was easy but disappointing that this brand seems to now have issues. Quality is not like it used to be especially with all the plastic used.

    The inside is all plastic with a stainless steel base. Saying stainless steal is misleading. Will be returning it.

    Disappointed

    I bought this product because it used to be a good brand. The entire tea kettle is made out of plastic except for the base. No one should be boiling water in plastic. It’s going back.

    I really like this version of the Bodum Kettle a lot. Prior to this one I was using an old style much smaller white pot. The handle was broken in two places and my husband had to reconnect the wiring to post when it shorted out a couple of years ago. I do wish this new kettle had the measure indicator column on both sides of the kettle so it would be convenient for the left handed users.
